How right you are Poppet. He has now posted something that says exactly that - blaming it on the Americans and how ''un-savvy'' they are with their ''we-know-what-is-best-for-you attitude which can really put a damper on things''.

He just doesn't do irony does he?

We'll try to address these but we'll have to try and get our installation fully working first and then we can try improving on what vB have written for us.

Certainly, the vB search function - which was never very good, is now really much more limited than ever. I can't imagine why reducing functionality - and effectively reducing choice - could ever be seen as good thing.

I think that it comes with the American village mentality. I like Americans a lot, but I used always to be amazed at how un-International and how un-savvy, Americans are. But it really is true. There is a sort of we-know-what-is-best-for-you attitude which can really put a damper on things. It would appear that he didn't even look at it let alone test it before he bought and installed it - and to think he runs a consumer advice forum.

The very minimum you do is set up a non-public copy/test site and test the upgrade. See what problems it throws up.

You can never catch everything, but looks like OTR just went into it blind?
