Politicians may do the talk, but not the walk, when has a politician ever told the truth and kept an election promise
At the time of that debate I would have voted YES on joining the Euro but we know that having one currency and more importantly being dictated by the European Central bank about financial policy can have a disastrous effect(Greece being the obvious one).
However, if no party offers a referendum on EU membership then the ridiculous half truths and silly debates based on not much will continue. Either we want to be IN or OUT and I want OUT.

The result of the 1975 referendum was supposedly a marginal 'Yes'. I have never had the slightest doubt that this was a lie.

I think you will find that Cameron and the rest of his ghastly crew are wide awake. They are bought and paid for, so know perfectly well what they are doing.

These are just facts. Rents and profits are sky high, wages the lowest in history as part of all the economic activity that takes place in the economy. http://www.tuc.org.uk/tucfiles/466.pdf. Mass immigration acts to benefit big corporate businesses by lowering the share of productivity that goes to ordinary workers own efforts. And the EU totally controls it. Our politics is just a game of hoodwinking the public and lying - because the EU (i.e. big business without democracy or accountability) controls such major areas of essential policy.
The EUs AIM is to UNDERMINE NATIONAL HOMOGENEITY VIA MASS IMMIGRATION WHATEVER THE PEOPLE OF A NATION SAYS.
The EU should "do its best to undermine" the "homogeneity" of its member states, the UN's special representative for migration has said.

              Quite a speech trampjuice

Besides your own unsubstantiated subjective reasoning

Care to give us some official facts and figures to support your own personal assumption, not just hearsay please

Just look at the links. They contain the facts which back up what I say. The only 'controversy' is that I link a unlimited supply of workers to lower wages as part of GDP. Supply and Demand sets price.

The TUC report in the introduction bottom of page 5 and top of page 6 suggests that high income jobs have got less and that low income jobs have increased partially as a result of technological advances.

Peter Sutherland was talking about MIGRATION and about the fact that some countries will need it if they are to be prosperous.

I don't disagree with you that in certain sectors wages have dropped as a result of EU migration to the UK but I am not sure that I agree entirely with the facts that you are presenting from the links you have given.
It's democratic to a degree(we vote in MEP elections) but I do agree with you on the unaccountability of it.

The underlined part is certainly true. MEP's actually have no power to speak of, although the public are given to believe that they do. Legislative power actually lies with unelected bureaucrats.

This trick is often used by politicians to manipulate debate into pre-arranged channels.

                            Some facts and figures:
                            • Roughly half of UK exports go to the EU
                            • Every UK household "earns" between £1,500 and £3,500 per annum thanks to the Single Market (SM)
                            • 33,000 people work for the European Commission, compared to 82,000 who work for UK Revenue and Customs
                            • Only 6.8% of UK primary legislation and 14.1% of secondary legislation have anything to do with implementing EU obligations - not EU diktats - agreed to, approved of and signed off by UK officials

You have just changed the parameters of the debate as I am sure you have quoted 57% as the figure and not "nearly half".
Can we have the list of primary and secondary legislation please?
