Thats shocking! Did he give that money to children in need? Bet not...

I wondered why we have not seen much of him.

Mike, I will watch it (with a large glass of wine) it is really dire and I can't understand how Bonnie Tyler was chosen to represent us. With all due respect has anyone heard from her since the eighties? I think there is a greater chance of the Pope falling pregnant than us winning!

Re: what has europe done for us debate

Well the idea that the Pro-EU camp put out is that 1 in 10 jobs is 'linked' to the EU and economic collapse would follow leaving.
It doesn't take more than a seconds thought to work out that we have been out of the EU before, and still had a roaring trade with Europe.

The key for me is that I or any other citizen doesn't have control over mass immigration in my own country, because the EU controls that.

Mass immigration (as opposed to normal levels of immigration) drives wages down, rents up and results in undue levels of profits to the rich.
All the equality and rights based stuff from the EU doesn't make up for that.

Why would rents go up? Would that be because immigrants are working harder for less wages and earning money to pay for that rent?

In regards to trade with Europe we will still have to comply with EU Directives because to trade with the EU then we have to have the same standards that will allow our goods into the EU trading block(for want of a better word).

I have to agree with Leclerc on this

Even if we did leave the EU, directives and legislation will still dictate how we trade with different countries, not only in Europe, but the whole planet

I do wonder how eastern Europeans come here to work and find it and Brits can't seem to find work and remain on the dole. Has it got anything to do with the fact that the Brits are too posh and would prefer to get government handouts than clean a public toilet?

Some Brits will not work in certain jobs or feel that the benefits that they are on will be effected that much that working does not pay. Not my work ethic but some might do.

I remember a few years ago watching Question Time and this girl basically said that she had got a degree and had been out of work because there was no jobs. I thought at the time, there are jobs, but not necessarily the ones she wanted or was prepared to do.
