    Frederick International Fishing Letter

OK, heres one from Frederick International on a fishing trip. You just don't waste your time responding to letters like this:

    ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
First 'proper' letter from Frederick International. I received this after no Default Notice served, no letter of assignment etc.

Re: Letters from DCA's - Some sample letters you may have received

Fascinating stuff that has given me a laugh tonight.

Here is a moorcroft threat letter that arrived whilst my PPI complaint was being dealt with.

Note they state whether read by you or not numpties

As my PPI complaint is now resolved to my satisfaction soon as I have the chq in my hand my next target is all this DCA that have chased a debt that never was as the bank had the funds and more to cover this.

Link to my thread on this here:

Servers fine If you can't get things up as attachments - sometimes you get limited size wise per username, you can email them to me and I can put them directly on the server to be hotlinked here. Will have a think about how to put them in an easily accessible place like an html page link so they can all be viewed at once by company so it will be easier to view than scrolling through a long thread .....

          Thanks Amethyst!

I've managed to work out how to use Photobucket now but don't know how long free images will last or whether theres an account size limit.

It would be great if we could collate the letters by DCA/Creditor. I don't know if this could be done by some sort of sub threads but would definately make reading/searching easier.

          Thanks

            crispybacon,

I have been using photobucket now for some 4 yrs and have a very lot of documents on there.

You are certainly given enough free space to store them I am on my 4th page now

This thread is a first class idea.Well done Crispi. With a fair collection of these threato grams surely it wil eventually make the FSA OFT Financial Ombudsman and quite possibly the DJ sit up and take notice. So lets keep it going, please.
It will be very useful to learn from others as to know when to ignore and when to take notice of these threatograms.
              Thanks Crispi

I was reading this thread with some amusement and laughing at the almost identical terms used by the pond-life. CAPITAL LETTERS, RED WRITING and deadlines that have passed long before the postie pollutes your letterbox with DCA porn.

I thought I had seen it all until I read this little paragraph in a recent missive from Risk Management Alternatives

We may proceed to complete a pre-litigation report in which the following information must be provided in writing by you

The full name and address of your employer , together with your annual salary
Your full residential address upon which a court summons may be served
Details of any properties you own together with the amounts of all prior charges
Just who TF do these persons think they are. Where do they get their imaginary powers from

These levels of self delusion are rife throughout the DCA industry - i am not sure were it all started from to be honest - that would be something worth investigating/reading up about lol

                    Probably Shylock.
What I want to know is who spells the words for them. Most of the threat monkeys I have dealt with couldn't join two words together

Most DCA muppets i've spoken to over the years have sounded genuinely shocked when ive told them that they have no power to get any money off me whatsoever - it seems to come as a genuine culture shock to them lol

That's because the most of them are educationally sub normal immature Macdonalds rejects who are brainwashed by their organ grinders. They see it as a way to get paid for being the school bully

                            Hi All

Tonights post is going to show letters from the one creditor that has steadfastly refused my DMP but has instead bombarded me with template letter after template letter.

This creditor is Shop Direct. You'll know them as Littlewoods, Marshall Ward, Very, Additions etc.

In my experience they follow a very rigid debt recovery process, in which they are not interested in helping you but instead it seems deliberately aimed at justifying adding on charges to your account in an accelerated way so that your debt can literally double in a few months.

Shop Direct after a couple of letters from their Arrears Department will then pass the account to a firm of 'Debt Collectors' NDR Money. NDR Money are in fact the debt recovery arm of Shop Direct rather than an external agency.

Theres a lot of letters from this lot so to summarise these are the letters in this post:

                            1) Hello letter from NDR
                            2) Missed payment/you have not contacted us letter
                            3) Pre-Escalation Notice
                            4) Rejection of DMP
                            5) We want to help you letter
                            6) A personal offer letter
                            7) Notice of Instruction to Proceed
                            8) About to issue a default notice
                            9) Default Notice
                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
So this is the 'Hello Letter' from NDR introducing themselves:

                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
So this is the next letter they send. Notice they claim that I have not attempted to contact them. This is despite the fact they have now received 2 letters from me (sent recorded delivery) about my DMP.

                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
Next letter is a 'pre escalation notice'. Not sure what that means other than its the letter they send you, charge you £12 for, before they send the next letter.......

                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
Next letter is them rejecting my DMP. I find it laughable that they claim to be trained in dealing with debt. The one and only time I called these people (a long time ago I hasten to add) I was told by the charming woman that she would harrass me by telephone constantly until the debt was repaid..............

                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
So after a couple of months of stalemate the tone changes slightly to a 'we want to help you'.........

                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
This then moves onto a 'Personal Offer'. Now this is nothing but a personal offer as I have several accounts with Shop Direct and got a 'Personal Offer' for each of them!!

Not to mention breach of OFT guidelines on encouraging a debtor to extend their borrowing.....

                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
Next there is the 'Notice of Instruction to Proceed........

Then there is the warning about the default notice.......

                            So points to note here:

                            1) I have failed to respond to their repeated requests - rubbish they had received 4 letters from me at this point regards my DMP

                            2) The threat to people financially associated

                            3) The threat of doorstep collection (against OFT guidelines for debt that is in deadlock)

                            4) That if I am in financially difficulty I should contact them for advice!!

                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------
And finally the default notice itself.....

                            ------------------------------- merged -------------------------------

Yes total joke - as for the phone harrassment threat changing my phone number buggered that up for them!!

I love the phrase - Pre Court Division!! So many DCA's use that now! I bet they wet themselves when they came up with that one.

And so they should as they would be better off renaming it 'desk by the toilet'.

Thanks that more the intention of the thread. Its really difficult to appreciate that these letters really are frequently just churned out by a computer program and that its not personal.
