Leadership is a stand alone quality.....................you either have it or you do not, the point being, a good leader motivates the best to do or contribute their best, he or she does not have to know it all, everybody else can do that.

[QUOTE=enaid;661839]Cameron went off singing to himself, so smug, /QUOTE]

Didn’t you hear; he was whistling the ‘GREAT ESCAPE’. Honestly -no joke! Sorry but I did roar laughing. Fair play to him I say.

I expect Cameron may be relieved walking away from what may be the hardest years for politics in this country whether Theresa May can pull it off remains to be seen , The country has decided one thing now both main parties have a chance to sort themselves out Labour may move in a new direction and the tories must listen to the people now

Can we do a labour leadership thread? I promise I won't throw a brick through the window

I agree with Fred , you either have leadership or you don't . I thnk Blair had it so did Thatcher and to an extent Cameron . Corbyn definitely hasn't got it neither did Foot or Knnock or really many Tory leaders between Thatcher and Cameron. I remain to be convinced about May although I would have voted for her.

I think they have listened to the electorate & the promised referendum took its course....................if anything, leadership will now do more to protect the UK from further damage & distance itself short term at the very least from public opinion. In effect a "lose lose" for both sides of the coin.

OK, if Corbyn wins then Labour will NEVER win the 2020 election because he is unelectable. He has to win over the votes of people who would never vote Labour and I just cannot think of a single reason to vote for him.

Absolutely agree with you. I think May does have the qualities to be a good leader - it is going to be tough for her to begin with though and she has seemed a little bit shellshocked last couple of days. But she is certainly the most suitable person to take over.
I think David Cameron has done a really good job, although I am really disappointed in him deciding to ditch the country after the referendum when the country most needed stability. I'd have voted for May too given the chance and had we not been in this weird Trump/Boris type world I'd have just assumed most conservative members would have - the support for Leadsom was pretty bloody scary for a while there!

Still think Hilary Benn should be their leader.

Am not sure Hilary Benn would be ideal candidate but their deputy leader has come across well over the last few weeks.
