    Re: Help needed before 8pm

I knew about the fine. I had been laid off at the time. I have just started a new job so I had every intention of paying but only when I had the money.

i had the reminders from the council and I had 2 letters from the court but this is the first time I have recieved anything from Bristow and sutor.

Thanks big al, do I proceed with this taking into account what ploddertim has said?

    thanks

If it was me, I certainly would. It could save you £235.

It doesn't matter that you received the other reminders - the stat dec is saying you didn't receive the compliance stage letter and if you had you would have sorted it out then. You're prepared to pay the £75 as you accept the bailiff was instructed as you ignored the reminders, but you're not prepared to pay the £235 as you hadn't been made aware they had become involved.

Ok does the complience letter only come from the company bristow and sutor, if so i have defiantly not recieved it. Would it have been sent by post or would this guy hand delivered it?
The letter he posted yesterday was hanging out of my letterbox by a corner of the envelope, So much so it was wet from rain.

Before going ahead with a stat Dec for this I would first enquire
1 - if they sent it - they will no doubts say yes
2 - the address it was sent to incl postcode

If it can be established that it was not sent then the only fee that cannot be chargd is the £75 Compliance fee. Enforcement can & will continue without it.

I will email and ask now.
So I cannot do the stat dec for the £235 just for the £75?
what if they just said they sent something but didn't?

Not had any reply to any emails I've sent. When should I expect one?

How long is a piece of string - some do it quickly others take their time or try to be obstructive.

Go and have a read of this which may explain the diffiiculties you may have saying you never receieved the Notice of Enforcement.
