I am new to this site. I have an interview with Michelle for a job that I would like. I am now concerned by these posts. Am I likely to be unpaid? Has anyone worked for Michelle before and if so did you not receive the monetary package promised? Thanks

More and more people are emerging that havent been paid - the total number now is between 20-30 - all have been told the same 'story' and fed the same lies over the course of the past few years,

do not take the bait - it seems too good to be true- because it is!

According to Companies House website this morning, Berdale Centres Ltd is now dissolved.
Which is news to the shareholders!!!
Therefore no further action can be taken against the company.

The only course of action now is to take Mrs Berhanu to court for various offences.
Call them what you will .........

LTS is still in business and is opening "schools" in Nottingham and abroad.... Libya being one of the countries.
Mrs Berhanu is well known to me as a person who has, at times, disregarded correct Immigration and Visa regulations and procedures so I will be keeping a watch on her actions and will report any such discrepencies to the relevant authorities.

When I find out who she is using as solicitor etc I will let you all know.

I have been pointed to this forum by other of Mrs Berhanu's staff.

I am sorry to hear so many of you are still owed money by Berhanu, but not surprised.
It seems wherever she goes she leaves a trail of destruction and debt, she then flaunts off to set up somewhere else, leaving honest and trusting people without wages etc.


I myself loaned Berhanu money. I have not received it back, and never will.

I cannot understand how anybody can continue running up debt without the law catching up with her.
I cannot take legal action against her as there is no proof that I lent her the money but I will be speaking to my local police officer this week about what steps can be taken towards Berhanu.

I am hoping that they will look into the matter and see that action is needed.

I know she is running up more debts as she goes along, so hopefully all this will count against her in a court of law, which will happen eventually ...... and it won't be soon enough.

ellie44, I have today spoken to a police officer. (so that's 2 of us).

Her advice is to call 101 and say that you wish to report that you have been defrauded.
They will take all the details so please have them ready before you call (dates, amounts etc).
If you have any physical evidence, letters or emails etc, get them printed ready in case an officer needs to visit you to take statements.

The more people that complain of the same thing, the better position the police will be in to present a case to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Don't delay, call 101 today.
There are only about 8 people who investigate fraud in Sheffield but the officer told me today that if over 15 people complain about the same thing there will be no problem.
Once investigations start they will no doubt find out all sorts of interesting things.

I am aware that Mrs Berhanu reads this forum so it's best to keep her eyes off things that matter, be careful what you post :o).
Use the private messaging.
She is no doubt trying to seek legal advice about this forum but solicitors will only do what she tells them to do. (funds allowing !!)

Some of you might like to try Trading Standards as well.
I have also spoken to C.A.B.

I think word is slowly but surely getting around about the 'scam' due to the increasing number of affected people; there are so many of us who have fallen into the trap of being offered work and left unpaid... and also students who have paid for services they dont receive, but the net is closing in around the
perpetrators, so hopefully it will only be a matter of time...

I think Facebook action would be very effective in spreading the word and protecting others from falling into the same trap

Update:
Berhanu has had to/is in the process of laying off some of her staff.
No doubt she will blame other people and the staff will not get paid!

She is presently in Libya!

At least one person to my knowledge is taking her to tribunal. I do not know when the case is to be heard yet.

To clarify a few points:

She is using the names Berdale Centres Ltd, LTS (Language Training Solutions) Ltd and LTS Ltd
The only live company she is in fact a Director of is Language Training Solutions Ltd.
You would think she runs 4 companies looking at all the names she uses!

Berdale Centres Ltd has been Dissolved, probably by companies house, but the website is still there to fool her clients into thinking the company still exists.
LTS Ltd is a communications company in York, nothing whatsoever to do with Behanu. (I'm sure they would be very interested to know she is using their LEGAL name!)
LTS (Language Training Solutions) Ltd does not exist, it's just a name she uses to sound impressive.

If anyone was employed by her after May 25th last year then you will have been employed by Language Training Solutions Ltd, as Berdale Centres had ceased trading then.
She will probably have tried to pay people with Berdale Centres cheques etc. and used the Berdale bank account.
I'm looking into the legalities of this as Berdale Centres still owes money to it's investors (though they will not get any return now it is Dissolved)

So the upshot is:
keep any evidence that shows "Berdale" name or logo being used after May 25 2012.
Any use of LTS Ltd or LTS (Language training Solutions) Ltd needs to be saved as this is not legal.

I am providing lots of paperwork to the police at the end of next week.

Hello, I have worked for Michelle for 1 month as homestay family; received 1 week. Promised to pay cash the next day, then to pay the balance into my bank account; it didn't happen. The boy who is with me has paid £3,000 for 12 weeks tuition and accommodation, his month is up with me on Friday. Who will be the next homestay to work for free.

Please be aware that her company is called Language Training Solutions Ltd.
.It has never been associated with Berdale centres, and LTS Ltd is a totally innocent company.

Berhanu just uses those names to confuse.I am sending you details of the police officer you need to contact

I've previously posted stating that I was trying to sort out any outstanding payments owed by LTS ltd. ( ds001 knows who I am) regrettably I have been unsuccessful in this endeavour. So unsuccessful in fact that I have found myself being owed in excess of £10k in unpaid wages by the swindling cow. It reached a point where myself and my other colleagues were left with no option but to take her and the other director to court. Needless to say we instantly "made redundant". ( fired) I know exactly what this crooks business practices are like. Happily neither of the directors had the affront to make a defence to my claim and now I am trying to work out the best way of enforcing the order. Funnily enough when I confronted her earlier today she claimed that I owe her over £20k!
If anybody can suggest the best method of enforcing the order please send me a private message as she does keep tabs on this forum.

Again, I apologise to any former, current and future employees of this lying, cheating swindler for not being able to pay you the money you're owed, but when the person responsible for the finances isn't given any access to the finances ( all money paid to LTS has gone into a private bank account) then they are onto a losing battle.

I could regale you with further info regarding fake solicitors letters and fake phone calls to banks but its making me too angry when I think about it. I would urge anybody who has not contacted the police about this matter or who knows anybody else affected who hasn't; to please contact ds001 for the contact info of the DC who is running the case. More evidence equals stronger case and hopefully we can stop her from ruining anybody else's life.

I still dont know what I "owe" £20k for. My best guess is that she is blaming me for losing a contract in Lybia as this is the only foreign contract that I've had any input in. This clearly isn't the case as a phone call from Libya this morning disabused me of this. One of the tutors, ( who I shall call Mr 1 and Ms 2) rang me this morning with a simple query. She wanted to know why she Ms 2 had not yet been paid, nor has Mr 1. I could only tell Ms 2 that I no longer work for Language Training Solutions and that I had left the company a week after they had departed for Tobruk.

There are now 2 people who are working for nothing in a foreign country!!! ( I will be passing on the contact details I have to the Police)

So if anybody who has seen this and thought "I'll not bother the Police over my issues with Michelle Berhanu, it's best just forgotten" then think just how you would feel if you had been conned into moving to Africa for 3 months.
