  • Re: Secured Loan, Welcome Finance

What sticks in my throat is that they are on my land registry records! I have no idea how to get them off.

Nem mentioned setting up an e-mail address and collaborating the paperwork together? Anyone up for the challenge? I usually don't mind volunteering but I would rather leave this one to someone who is more technically minded than me.

I take it that we would scan and send all the paperwork we have to the e-mail address set up and then forward it on to the FCA with a comprehensive cover letter.

That sounds pretty simple in theory.

So far we have 3 or 4 of us involved. Is that enough to get the FCA to sit up and listen?

The FCA take much more notice of a group complaint.......and in their eyes a group is more than 3 .....so if you have 4 Ruby .....then that is how I would recommend you go about it.
Hope you have a real good go at such a complaint and more than a lot of luck on your side.

Having read this thread, and many other threads on Welcome secured loan nightmares, I can't help noticing their hesitation to issue legal proceedings when challenged by the borrower.

Could this be because they know that once court proceedings are in progress they will have no option but to comply with the rules on disclosure of documents.

'Doctoring' (if they genuinely do as has been suggested) paperwork would be seen as contempt of court which is a criminal offence.

Is this why they're happy to dilly dally with FOS complaints whilst adding interest to the loan (if they do)?

When i was at Watsons i saw an underwriting sheet which had been disclosed where the creditor who shall remain nameless had tried to tipp ex out the commission, we only knew this because they gave us by mistake an undoctored version.

So documents do get altered for sure.

@Diana M, thank you for your valued help

And how can they use a "different " name on Land Registry documents? We hadn't heard of Progressive Finance until we did a SDAR.
Also when we moved here we had to register this house with them and neither name is used on the LR document copy we have from main mortgage.
Appreciate your input think we need someone with legal knowledge!

Because Welcome are now in the final winding up process could all of us, that want too, still bring action against them?
I know it would be highly unlikely we would get any financial recompense.

How about this for a "Doctored" underwriting sheet..........this of course is a Swift Advances Plc Underwriting sheet. So as pt says they do get "doctored".

Here's another Swift Customers (not any more by the way) underwriting sheet ( this person sent me a copy of his unredacted underwriting sheet.
I won't post any more about Swift on this thread but I thought it might show how all these sub prime GITS operate.
I have removed the persons name but left everything else.

I don't know if documents were altered, but the presumptive rewrites were a mess with terms increased to reduce payment. This was done without telling the customer. The official reason was to preserve the customers credit rating. However as part of the bonus structure was based on the number of accounts brought up to date there was pressure on that score.

At least some of the PPI was genuine,I remember getting payouts.

I would not have "qualified" for PPI because at the time I was working but as a Bank/Agency Nurse .
And, from memory the PPI did not " last" the length of the term of the loan, ten years in our case.
