Morning, I’m looking for some guidance please.
I have a credit card debt which is has had several different changes in ownership and is now owned by one of the large collection companies. The default went back to 2008 so doesn’t at the moment appear on my credit history. I had an arrangement in place small monthly payment but this didn’t go through over the last couple of months so they have issued me with a county court summons. I admit I misplaced claim pack so this was not sent and hadn’t responded, but I’ve got myself back on track over the last number of years and this is going to have a massive impact on me on a debt that is over 12 years old and I will then have a CCJ for 6 years. Is there any defence I could make? Is it worth appealing to the company to see if they’ll withdraw it if I can borrow some money from family to offer a settlement or higher monthly payment. Many thanks.
