    They will need to evidence their claim in a Witness Statement 14 days prior to a hearing, but had you followed the first steps guide you'd know what they have or don't have already. Essentially you need to send a CPR 31.14 and CCA request now before they get your defence.

    Your actual best course of action would be to request an extension of time, although you are going to have to come up with a good reason why they should agree to one and then to send those requests off, then file a defence based on the response.

    One way or another you need to know by 4pm Wednesday whether they agree to the extension and if they don't need to file a defence.
