I read that bit from the BBC article about the vote, ie that those who do not agree with the EU triggered the referendum by getting the required number of signatures and made the referendum about the EU rather than the question of Ukraine.
I think people are sceptic of the EU project and in times of austerity we feel that services are being put under pressure. More people needing services with less money in the pot means that arguments suggesting that saving money from leaving the EU becomes more appealing.
I am voting to leave the EU. I think regardless of which way the vote goes that at least the argument will be done and dusted and we can then move on.
