Re: Ding Dong the Witch is Dead
So why is any tax payers' money being shamelessly squandered on the ceremonial funeral of that appallingly miserly harpy?
How expensive would be a cheap and chippy cardboard box and a decent communal bonfire?
Even more money could be raised by cancelling her cremation, soaking her remains in PEG solution to replace all the water and, after she has been pickled, mummified or preserved, she could be privatised by selling her off for souvenirs by the half pound or by the slice, rather as she did with British manufacturing industry.
Isn't that what she would have wanted?

As you claim to stand for TaxPayers, I would very much appreciate it if you took a principled stand again the spending of up to £10 million of our money on the funeral of M Thatcher. It really shouldn't cost more than £5,000 to bury or cremate someone in these times of austerity.

I agree with Ken Loach's sentiment that the funeral should be privatized and put out to tender, the cheapest bid should be taken. Alternatively, many of her friends that made millions as a consequence of her actions, could have a quick 'whip round' and easily afford the cost.
They could even sell tickets and make a profit. Some of this money could be donated to the parts of the country & people that have yet to recover
