And that sentence alone scares me bandy..........Nothing to stop Venables working with kids is there?....

Yes there is because I think it's Venables that has breached the terms of his bail and is in prison due to the downloading of child pornography. That means that he will be on the sex offenders list and ineligible to work with Children. I would suspect that under the terms of Thompson's licence that he would not be able to work with children.

Obviously I used him as an example cos it was the first name that popped into my head........but the mere fact that any of them get a new ID and don't have to disclose who they really are scares me. I think we all have the right to live peacefully and securely,,I believe we have the right to know if these people are in our community..They should have lost any rights the day they did what they did.And ,,lets be honest,it will be a bit late after the event if they do re-offend to tell people 'Oh,,we gave him/her a new identity as per his/her Human Rights but we didn't have to tell anyone and they have been living amongst you,,sorry about that'..What about those amongst who DON'T break the law? Have we no rights?

One of the problems in believing in freedom of speech is having to allow people to make statements that you are fundamentally opposed to.

We live in a society with laws that prescribe what is allowed and what punishment should be given. The idea is that once the punishment has been served then that person should be seen as rehabilitated. There are instances where public opinion, often so inflamed by the media would mean that that person would never be able to be productive in society and would also possibly be more likely to re offend in some way.

I do not believe that any of this is related to Human rights in the way some people will take it, as in the Human rights act as new identities were issued long before this was a topic of conversation.

Inca to work with children or other vulnerable people you would need to pass an enhanced CRB check and remember they are on licence so yes there is plenty to stop them working with children.

I have thought long and hard about your previous posts and I truly believe that your comments were homophobic and I did not need to "twist" anything . I have also tried to be polite but you managed to be rude and condescending talking about prams etc

Blimey,,took your time jon..All I can say is ..well nothing really cos I don't actually care what you think of me,I care what my family & friends think of me but not a complete total stranger whom I rarely if ever interact with on the internet, that would be rather tiresome tbh..and I even gave you the solution to your dislike of me,,block me,,then you don't ever have to see me again...job done and have a nice day

I will not block you as that defeats what I stand for. As for dislike...don't flatter yourself....I just disagree with you

The two boys Venables and Thomson were actually send to secure units, not prison, I don't know where Thomson went but I do know that Venables was placed in a home in Brentwood, yes the one where TOWIE is filmed, twice a week a social worker would call a cab, take him into town and let him go shopping on his own for an hour whilst the social worker sat in the cab waiting for him.
How do I know you may ask, well.... at the time I was living on my own and had a mortgage so I worked extra as a controller for the very same cab company.

why should the police camp outside her house?
shes a criminal, done her time, so let her live her life like everyone else, let Philpot rot where he is, dont segregate him, let "The Boys" deal with him...

Strange he was living in Cheshire at the time of his arrest since he has a lifetime ban from Merseyside.....

Yes he was Leclerc, but when he was sent to a 'secure unit' he was actually in Brentwood, when he'd 'served his time' he moved on.

i want a society where murderers are too scared of the consequences the don't murder, where kids can play in the street without parents having to watch kids like hawks in case they are abducted, where we spend more money protecting our old folk than protecting scumbags like Phillpot and his ilk, and where people are raised with respect.
If that means mob rule, bring it on!!!

I would happy if they were slung in a jail until they died (then there is NO way they could re-offend)..given enough sustinence to satify their 'Human Rights'...no TV,no 'luxuries'..no segregation for their own safety.

In olden times prisoners were made to work for benefits, they made rope, made rag piles, sewed sails and post bags.. In fact prison is the cause of the expression money for old rope, maybe if the whole home from home thing was stopped we would have a better society, teenagers too scared to commit crime in case they went inside instead of seeing it as a status symbol.
Lets play mug a granny and get a new identity and a PS3!!

this whole debate is about the human rights of a man with 17 kids human rights, and we are forgetting the human rights of the kiddies he killed, the have the right to justice, and to me being put in a luxury cell, with tv, video games and no worries is not justice.

In the words of the film, let him have it boys!!

And scarily for someone who hates confrontation... I mean it
