Until such time as poking your member up another guy's bum ensures the survival of the human race, I'm afraid I'll always consider that those who engage in such activity have no right, morally or otherwise, to having children.

So what about gay women .... who may have children through good old fashioned missionary sex, but the man was just an ashole? Should she be denied her child because she found after giving birth that she was a lesbian?

There's nothing unnatural about someone who happens to be a lesbian giving birth. I would question the morality of her bringing that child up in a lesbian houshold however.

Sorry Emerald, I'll just have to disagree. As I said before, I do understand your viewpoint, I will just never agree with it. I think every child should be given the chance to grow up as part of a family that comprises Mother, Father, Offspring. I understand that is not always possible for a number of reasons, but deliberately structuring the family unit so that both mother and father share the same gender is unacceptable to me. I'll go so far as to say that I believe it would be psychologically damaging to the child. Forget for a moment that once his or her classmates discover the truth, and bully that child mercilessly. Which WILL happen, right or wrong.

At least the couple who used to live next to me managed to actually conceive their children with own wives, and brought them up in as near to a natural (and I know I'll be shot down for using that word) environment as possible. Only moving out and "coming out" once their children were old enough to make their own decisions and understand that their fathers were NOT the "norm", but accept them for who they are in any case.

I heard on GMTV this morning that Alfie and his family have now got cameras following them everywhere and they are hoping to disclose the result of the test live on tv.

I think all this publicity is actually glamourising a very sad situation - especially for the baby.

I do actually agree with the comment about children remaining children for as long as possible. Unfortunately I think TV and also the internet has probably prevented that happening.

By the way Richard II was married at the age of 15 and his second wife was the youngest queen consort at the age of 8 - she died in childbirth at age 23.

So maybe we are reverting to medieval times! gosh if thay had had Jeremy in those days.
