Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

Oh and BTW, having briefly looked through other posts…..worrying about a letter from these charlatans is the same as worrying about an email from a Nigerian general.:tsk:Read, read and read the threads on this site. The people who are giving you advice, the people who will help you through this, have not only beaten the very big boys, they have helped to change the law. You are not alone and by no stretch of the imagination are you the worst case they have ever had to tackle!!!!

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building, and after 50 floors says, 'So far so good'!

Letter number 4 has arrived ... as predicted by des8 (I believe) they're reducing the amount they are asking for

Sonu - I'd still say ignore. They're probably going to send a few more letters before they give up, but there's nothing to worry about!! xx

Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

You couldn't make it up, could you?
They are so sure of winning they employ DCAs, and when that doesn't work they plead for a reduced amount.
As far as I know they don't actually send begging letters claiming a wife and five children to support. but they might as well!!

Ignore them, keep the letters and when you feel better paste them up in the ty bach so you can have a laugh every time you need to go,

Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

Have you noticed they don't give a date for the 21 days elapsing ... no "within 21 days of the date of the letter" or "by such-and-such a date"? What would happen if Sonu had been on holiday and didn't receive the letter until the middle of next month :noidea:

We know that and Sonu should know that too ... but hypothetically, could it be argued that the letter is unfair (like a default notice with no "remedy by" dates on it for example)?

Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

The letter actually goes on to say "within three weeks of your receipt of this letter".

But Kati, why would you want to discuss hypothetical questions with lowlife like RLP?
It's not going to make any difference.

Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

Well Sonu, you have the cream of Legal Beagles brains advising you here! If you look through some of the stuff these guys have handled you will realise they know this type of case inside out. Counselling is a good Idea but the thing I love about the experts on this site is they also deal with the practicalities. They work the problem and are with you every step of the way.
Now, get this into your head – you are not Bad or Mad. You are being unfairly harassed. UNFAIRLY. So say the very experienced and clever beagles on here and it is no exaggeration to say thousands of people have put their lives in their hands over the last 8 years. Stop pointing the gun at yourself and turn it on the bunch of you-know-whats who are putting you through this. There are some people on here who lost everything but the worst thing to lose is your peace of mind. That is all these scumbags can take from you. Money will come and go but your ability to enjoy your life is priceless. Don’t give that up.
You are a very decent human being. You are respected by the people who know you and by the members on here. Right now you are having a wobble but it is not because of a silly mistake you made; it is because you are being hounded and harassed. It is RLP who are in the wrong and not you.
Trust these experts on here Sonu. Bless them, they are brilliant and totally dedicated. When you are having a bad 5 mins have a look at the Friday smile thread or get addicted to word association. Before you know it RLP will be RIP.:rip2: Forgive yourself, brush yourself down. You will get through it but don’t just take my word for it. Read the threads that begin with ‘cannot sleep’, ‘very depressed’ and even some saying they cannot go on but the threads end with ‘ over the moon’, ‘overjoyed’, ‘so relieved’. These are real cases and real people. The Legal Beagles experts are not real however, they are superhuman saints.:hail:
