      Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

      Thank you des8
i have many different par time jobs..
Last year I applied for foster care I have spoilt my chances for that ( as I don't want to tell them what I did, or them find out of my actions) I was not taken on due to stress as a foster parent...
I hold a SIA licence so I know all about security.
I work with vulnerable people, my jobs involve a DBS check,,

plus the embarrassment if my families friends find out that I'm a thief.. I'm stressed crying all the time ,, I feel ashamed.. And ashamed as a parent.. I never stole in my life.. I give £150 every month to different charities. I feel scared if my employer found out I might get the sack.. Plus the shame of colleagues finding out...

I'm not a bad person I don't ever buy stolen goods , I believe if I buy these items it's not fair on the person who is the victim,,

        Thank you ostell
i don't want a bad record.. I don't want to go court. I don't see why I should pay the store. Police gave me a fine of £90 which I paid on line straight away. ( my name is probably on the police records) plus my crb will flag up thief,, the item was returned in same condition.. I've lost sleep confidence.. The store assistants probably having a good gossip about me.. I'm more stressed and nervous..with anxiety.. I just want all this behind me ... I can't talk to friends.. I just cry all the time ...

          Hi Sonu,

This matter is obviously having a huge effect on your life, far beyond its real seriousness.
Are you already receiving treatment for your depression?
If so, perhaps you should request your GP refers you for urgent counselling to help you recover from this incident.

I have had a look round and it seems that an FPN does not normally show on a CRB check, although it depends on the local force.
If asked it is better to declare the matter, rather than try and suppress it.
If you try and conceal it and the incident emerges it looks worse.

            Hi des8
dr has given me medication for depression from before. I have not been able to go back. Due to stress I'm unable to stay awake..I don't think I have the strength to tell my new employer. Will it flag up on normal job application forms, when asked have you been convicted of any criminal actions etc, then the employer does thier checks.thank you for getting back

              Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

You have not been convicted of a criminal act, and no such conviction will be recorded.
You have accepted a FPN to prevent the matter progressing further.
People will do this to avoid the stress of a court appearance even when they are not guilty of any wrongful act.

FPNs are rarely disclosed on DBS checks. Following a freedom of information request it was stated that in 2013 FPNs were only disclosed on 14 occasions.
I can't advise whether or not you should tell your new employer.
If you are already working for them, unless your contract has something to say about it, I wouldn't mention it.

It is easy for me to say "stop worrying", but this is obviously having an enormous effect and I really think you would be well advised to talk to your GP about it.

Hi I am reading the threads here it's also says that rlp forward your details to dept recovery. This will give me a bad dept.. And also I have read ignore the letters from rlp.. Only respond if the court write to you by then I will have to pay court fees.. This is more stress, I'm thinking do I just pay the £150

                  Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

The only thing that can give you a bad debt is a court case that your lose. And RLP will not be taking you to court.

The only thing that the debt recovery people can do is write to you with big red scary letters. And then more even scarier letters.

                    Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

Sonu ... RLP do not have the right to fine you. They send these speculative invoices out in the hopes that people will pay without questioning them.
Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

                      Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

Obviously it is your choice, and if you wish to pay their outrageous demands to remove the stress, do so without feeling bad.

If we put to one side your personal situation however, the advice is to ignore them.
RLP do not do court, as the last time they tried they were blasted by the judge.
If by any chance they tried court again you would only pay court fees if you lost.
The risk is so low it is IMO not worth considering.

Yes, sometimes they pass details to a debt collector.
But there is no debt and nothing for them to extort from you, so the DCA can also be ignored.

If you are set on paying, it might be worth holding on a bit longer, because after a few letters they often reduce the amount they want "in an effort to settle out of court".
That gives you an idea of certain they are of their position.

Whatever you decide to do, we wish you well.

Which are either ignored until they pass the debt back to RLP or replied to with a letter stating something along the lines of "I do not acknowledge any debt to either yourself or the company that hired you and therefore will not be paying" (when it is then sent back to RLP :lol

                          Re: Rlp, debenhams, police fine

Good grief sweetheart, you really are suffering with this. You clearly have extremely fragile mental health currently (and before the 'incident') To me, reading this thread, your wellbeing is the most important thing. It sounds like you may have had a breakdown and need proper help and support. Please, please get some proper help from your doctor.

RLP are scavengers, picking on the vulnerable at their worst moment. They send out these 'invoices' in the hope of prompting exactly the response you are feeling now...shame, fear and embarrassment. Please take strength from this little community on Legal Beagles, we've stood up to RLP in the past and they are all hot air and nonsense. I read the full transcript from the Oxford case of two teenage girls who fully ADMITTED theft, but still the court utterly demolished RLPs inflated claims.

Try to put this one off incident behind you and be strong for yourself and your children to get well.

"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

like it was mentioned there is no loss to the store.which I agree with. So I don't want to pay then. I'm so scared of loosing my job .from this shop lifting situation. I will hold on and let you know of the next letter.. Or should I just return thier Mail back without opening the letters.

thank you so much for taking time out to reply means a lot to me. Your support thanks

Dear celestine thank you It makes me feel much better when I come on your website, as this is the only place I can really express my self. I can't even look at my self in the mirror, I'm worried in case debenhams have my photos on display in there area. As I know few friends that work there. Also I'm scared security have shown the cctv to staff.or made copies of the cctv of me, Im scared in case I'm on tv criminals being caught ,,, my mind is going crazy,,, I look back I have never stolen I don't know what happened that day.. I still can't belive what I've done ..the shame is really hurting me.. Before this happened I was suffering depression. Was offered counselling but told her I'm better now,
I have no friends to talk to.

thank you thank you for getting back
