  • Does anyone have any idea regarding this?

    Hello,
Last day while doing some renovation works in our home, my wife fell down from the ladder. We consulted a doctor and he said that she got a herniated disc. She needs to undergo surgery immediately. We don't have a health insurance so the surgery may cost around $25000. We are not in a situation to pay such a huge amount. My wife's condition will be worst if the surgery is late. My friend suggested me to consult a personal injury lawyer who can help us with this situation. Does anyone have any idea regarding this? Please do respond.

    Hi Jonathan

Welcome, but it's unlikely you'll get the information you are looking for here. The site is a UK site and mainly English/Welsh Law. It's unlikely anyone from Canada would be on here to offer advice to you.

Good luck with trying to solve your issue though.

My posts here are based on my experience of a variety of life events. I have no formal legal training & if in doubt take professional legal advice or contact CAB. If you follow anything I write here you do so at your own risk & I accept no liability for any loss, costs or other outcomes.

hello, ladders have to go through safety testing so you would have to prove there was FAULT with the ladder, not positioning thereof etc; which would be immensely difficult, also depending on where it was purchased, they may have a legal team and you could incur further costs etc etc

i am in the u.k. but hopefully the following statement / links are legitimate and helpful.

"Federal law requires nonprofit hospitals to provide financial assistance to qualified low-income patients who can't repay their medical bills, so check whether the hospital treating you is a nonprofit. Applicants will need to show proof that their income is low enough to qualify, such as pay stubs, tax returns and other financial documents. "If they qualify, (patients) will have a bill that is reduced or completely written off," Lamb says."

      kind regards
