Hello all.
I live in a terraced house and a dispute has arisen due to a water leak from some guttering where the gutters of my property meet the gutters of my neighbour's property. I have uploaded some photos of the guttering that my neighbour took, and then I've taken a photo of the back of my property (https://imgur.com/a/fZ0rBbk).
My neighbour's contractor said he couldn't do the work for my neighbour because the guttering is on my property, but when I look at the photos it very much looks like the guttering is on his property. Alternatively, I got on the roof myself to see about fixing it, however I could see no safe way to reach the problem area. My neighbour is trying to push the cost burden on to me in this situation. I looked over all the documents I have from when I purchased the house and there is no mention of guttering anywhere, nor is there a clear distinction of property lines, making me assume the property line is the fence (and if you zoom in on the photo of the back of my house the issue with the guttering is to the left of the fence).
I have read this thread (https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...is-responsible) on the forum which makes it sound like the burden is on my neighbour, but then I've also read this thread (https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...nd-damp-issues) which makes me think the burden may be on me since it's my guttering that isn't secured to the drain on his property.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Should mention since I forgot, this is England.
