    Re: No Claims Discount

Take the complaint to the Motor Insurance Ombudsman as I have already given you the information.

Did they return your PNCD which you sent them?

Is £89.50 a Time on Risk only premium or has it been calculated on their short term rates?

Have you paid any money to this bunch of Morons and or do they now owe you any money back?

We refer to our previous correspondence about the no claims discount given on your policy. As you have not returned proof of your no claims discount, Yes I have, and you have acknowledged this by email, we have been forced 'forced???' to reduce your no claims bonus on your current policy to zero, and as a result your insurer is no longer able to offer you cover. We have tried to reach you by telephone, That's the same telephone that we have had 3 conversations on over the last few days, but as we have been unsuccessful we now have no option but to cancel your policy.
I was informed yesterday that I will be charged £89.50 as my cancellation fee. Looks like I'll be adding to this list http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews182804.html

Anyone thinking of insuring I would suggest steering well clear............ no pun intended.

      Re: No Claims Discount

I have emailed the MIO with the details of my complaint and also a link to the complaints on reviewcentre.com, I am yet to receive a reply. I did a cc of the email to the comparison site and they have replied saying they are going to look into the matter and get back to me. I am yet to receive my returned PNCD. Not sure what Time on Risk is. All I have paid so far is my deposit. Thanks for your help.

Time on risk is how long you have been on cover they calculate what you owe from inception of the policy to the time you cancel

I had to take my daughters car to Kwik fit for an new tyre. A few days later a phone call from customer service hello Mrs Tuttsi, were you pleased with the service at Kwikfit, I said it was fine. They then said can we talk to you about Motor insurance lol....after what I have heard on the site I told him where to get off and said I have heard bad things about their car insurance business.

                Re: No Claims Discount

One letter from Kwik-Fit Insurance Services saying the date of car purchase was entered incorrectly when the policy was set up so they will cancel in 7 days. The other letter from The Green Insurance Company telling me that they will be using the payment details I had previously given them to extract the outstanding balance of £137.21 and if they don't get the money in 3 weeks then they will pass my details to their debt collection agency. Ombudsman sent me a letter noting that I had made a complaint and that they should be sending me a complaint form. Still waiting for that.

                  Re: No Claims Discount

I received the following email from the the price comparison company I used when obtaining my motor insurance. Although The Green Insurance Company have considerably bent the truth, I am happy with the outcome.

Following our previous correspondence, I have now received an update from the Green Insurance Company.
They have explained that they initially rejected your no claims bonus as it appeared to be for an alternative vehicle and also appeared to being used against two vehicles at once. This was due to an error at quote stage where the purchase date had been entered incorrectly. Green insurance were made aware of this error and were then happy to reinstate the no claims bonus, however a charge would now stand of approx £170. As you were unhappy to pay the charge, the payment method was cancelled by your own request, and subsequently your policy was then also cancelled.Green Insurance have sent you a full complaint resolution letter, outlining all of the above events. As a goodwill gesture they have also removed the outstanding balance on the policy.I hope that this is satisfactory. If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact us either by email or by calling us on ................

                    Re: No Claims Discount

It seems that i'm caught up in a similar world-of-pain on this stuff ...

My car insurance was up for renewal and, exercising what I thought was due-diligence, I took to the usual compare-insurance-quote online tools.

I eventually plumped for Kwik-Fit, as the quoted price seemed reasonable, and since I had used them in the past (several years ago now) and had not issue, I thought they were a reasonably safe bet.

Upon signing up to Kwik-Fit, I was emailed requesting "evidence of no-claims" and copies of both my counterpart and photo drivers license. This was new to me, as I did not need to do this in days gone by when I previously insured under them...

Okay. Fine. No problem I thought.
The email stated what the legitimate forms of evidence were and the appropriate means by which one could submit the information (one of which was an email address for sending electronic copies).

I dutifully emailed the relevant address (with 3 seperate emails due to size-limitations on the attachments), with all of the relevant information, exactly as requested.

I got an auto-response thanking me for the submissions and that I would get a response within a few days after the data had been processed.

About 3-4 days later (today) I received an SMS message to my mobile stating that I had not submitted the information and that if I did not supply the information I would be subject to an administration charge and further hardship.

This prompted me to call up the customer-desk and enquire about the situation. I was told that there was no evidence on the system of them having the documents I emailed and I was told to try sending them again to the same email address... needless to say I was dubious about any success from doing this...

I had to wait until after work to do this, since the documents were at home. By the time I arrived home, I had received an email from KwikFit stating that they could not accept either my no-claims evidence or my drivers license evidence.
The email proceeded to outline acceptable forms of information and acceptable ways of providing the information to them. Both of these conditions were satisfied (as worded in the request-email) by my original response (and attachments)...

I'm feeling like there could be a bit of a battle on here... I replied stating that their negative-acknowledgement email was essentially no use to man-nor-beast and that I am seeking further clarification on what the issue with my original details were.

I shall also be phoning them up promptly in the morning...

What is my best course of action if I am simply "soft-soaped" when I contact them...?
i.e. if they decide to nullify my no-claims due to this ongoing issue (after their "7 day period" has elapsed) does this mean I will lose my no-claims eligibility if I switch to an alternate insurer?

If so, can I cancel with Kwik-Fit before this occurs (paying any cancellation fees) and switch with my no-claims in-tact etc...?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

                    Kind Regards,
                    Zoo.

(P.S. apologies in advance if this post occurs twice)

                      Re: No Claims Discount

My only advice is stick to your guns, why else do you find more and more posts on the internet regarding the same matter? I think with my persistence pushing the comparison company for answers, emailing them the links I found about their agents, along with letting them know the Ombudsman had been notified helped my cause.

Thanks for the reply CardsDown. I'll see how I get on in the morning, if I don't get any tangible results, I shall plan to follow up with the Ombudsman. Very infuriating when you naively trust in a brand name and past experiences only to be bitten by something nasty and time-consuming. :-(
