    Re: No Claims Discount

My NCD was from my last insurer and for 9 years. I have been driving for longer, never had an accident or claimed. They sent a letter saying the following: Thank you for sending us proof of your no claims bonus. unfortunately we are unable to validate this. The reason for this is the underwriter insuring your car would need to know where the car has been insured as you have advised them that you have owned the car since 2005. I bought the car and insured it the same day with the company, and it was not 2005.

      Re: No Claims Discount

As in my earlier post have you called them yet and explained?

You need to do this and get this extra £15 deleted and this matter sorted sooner rather than later- because if you don't they are suddenly going to charge you another 60% for the PNCD+ further fees.

They maynot seem to be be a pucker company to you and they certainly have their charging regime but I am presuming this was explained to you when you took out the insurance, but they would still have to play nicely as there is a motor insurance onbudsman http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct...pePIFQZ25yM0Hw It may be worth calling them and discussing the matter witgh them and see what they say.

Your best bet is though speak to the insurance company first and try and speak to a supervisor and have this out directly with them - as what they are saying is a total nonsense.

          Re: No Claims Discount

Just been on the phone to these people and they have informed me that my premium has gone up by £180 after they alter the purchase date of my car. I was told this is because more than 14 days has passed since submitting my NCD making it invalid. WTF?

did you speak to a higher person rather than a call centre operative, seems to me they caused trouble then making it invalid by holding onto things then bumping up the premium sounds very fishy to me

The woman I spoke to said she couldn't put me through to anyone and she would have to get a manager to call me back, I had my say to which she kept telling me my NCD is invalid, She asked me if I was going to cancel my policy. I asked if I would be charged for this to which she replied I'd have to ask the cancellation team. I hung up the phone, 5 mins later the same woman rang back asking me if I am cancelling my policy. I told her I wasn't cancelling anything.

The Green Insurance Company is an insurance intermediary, authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Click here to check our authorisation on the FSA’s website.

It appears that they are also regulated and authorised by the FSA, so a complaint can be made to them as well.

The address is the same as Kwik Fit Insurance. As for what they are doing, my gut-feeling says, "Illegal". Liaise with the FO, but you may need to involve the police at a later date or assist them with enquiries as a witness or complainant.

Received the following yesterday from http://www.greeninsurancecompany.co.uk/ dated 20th May
We refer to our previous correspondence about the no claims discount given on your policy. As you have not returned proof of your no claims discount, Yes I have, and you have acknowledged this by email, we have been forced 'forced???' to reduce your no claims bonus on your current policy to zero, and as a result your insurer is no longer able to offer you cover. We have tried to reach you by telephone, That's the same telephone that we have had 3 conversations on over the last few days, but as we have been unsuccessful we now have no option but to cancel your policy.
I was informed yesterday that I will be charged £89.50 as my cancellation fee. Looks like I'll be adding to this list http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews182804.html

Anyone thinking of insuring I would suggest steering well clear............ no pun intended.
