Hello,
I'm looking for some advice in regards to some loans that I took out with Chartered Trust (Black Horse). I took several loans out with them between 1999 - 2003.
I was making payments via direct debit and never missed a payment, until November 2003. I was then involved in a serious car accident which left me unable to work. As a result I couldn't pay my full mortgage payment, let alone pay my loans. I was forced in to selling my home to a quick buy company or my home would have been repossessed.
I then spent the next 6 years sleeping rough and sofa surfing.
I'm not proud of the fact but I never repaid my loans to charted trust.
My ordeal ended 5 years ago and I've now turned my life around.
My question is could I reclaim the missold ppi or would it just open a huge can of worms and put me back in a position of struggling and potentially losing my home again ?
When I took the loans out the adviser basically waved a cheque for the loan amount in my face and told me that if I didn't sign for the insurance I wouldn't get the loan.
Any advice would be much appreciated
