    Re: the claims guys charges

Sorry, Tuttsi, I didn't make myself clear enough, I guess. Been up all night...

No - the 0845 number was the HMRC option - which I declined.

If you click on the link, it should take you to the EU verifier, which is totally free.

    http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/vieshome.do

Type in the number you want to verify.

THEN type in 'YOUR OWN' VAT reg. number at the bottom.

Don't have one ? No problem - neither do I. Just type in ANY legit VAT reg. number !!!

    ............et Voilá.........Mazel Tov, even !!!

I don't consider it solved until we have a half-decent fag-packet formula, TBH - but I guess we'll have to settle for the EU fodder, as per usual.

G'Day all - and thanks for being around for me this morning, Tuttsi !!!

Also works without filling in the bottom half. Worked for me without.

                    3 x 2 = 6
Total = 101 less 97 = 04 and that does not equate to the last 2 numbers.

Deduct 97 again to give -93. Add 55 to your check figure of 38 gives you a new check figure of 93

I think that if the check figure is 42 or more you deduct 42 to get the new check figure and if it is lower you add 55.

Instead of messing about getting a new check figure, why not just add the 55 to the -93, as in -93 plus 55 = -38. Which is the correct check figure.

or just simply ignore the fact that there's a - in front of the 2, add on 42, then it gives you 44, which is the correct check figure in the first place.

basically you just need to deduct 97, then add on/deduct either 42 or 55, one of them will give you the original check figure.

                      Is no longer here
