Just found this web site, but I think it maybe a little bit late.
Last Tuesday I received a phone call from this firm, saying that they could possibly get us money back on our mortgage or our credit cards could have been miss-sold and we could have the balances wiped off. I got passed on to their Senior Claim Advisor and I gave my credit card details (stupidorwhat). He said the fee was £495, but with solicitors fees it would be £2605 he send me emails with the agreement to digitally sign. I said I couldn't afford this and he said not to worry that it would all be sorted out through the claims. As my husband has credit cards too, he said he would send the paper work in the post for him to fill in and sign, on Thursday last week I got an email saying the payment had been agreed. I checked my credit card, but there was nothing taken out at the point. I checked today and they have taken the full amount of £2605. I phoned them straight away and was put through to the Senior Claims Advisor, who was totally different when I said I wanted to cancel the agreement, (within my rights within their 14 days) he said he would tell his finance department to sort it out and said I was a time waster and hung up on me.
I called them back and they told me they would send me a form for my signature to authorise them to credit my card, which can take up to 14 days. yet my digital signature let them take the money within 3 days. I have called my credit card company and explained, they are sending me a form for them to make a claim to recover the money.
Is there anything else I should do or can do. All I wanted to do was cancel and agreement and get my money refunded.
Any help greatly appreciated, I am not normally this gullible I don't know what went wrong that day.
feeling very stupid and upset
