Hi, Firstly thanks very much to everyone for all the valuable information on this site that has helped me make a partly successful hardship claim against Halifax on behalf of a friend.
I would however appreciate some help and advice on the following;
My friend is recently divorced, is suffering severe hardship, IE two months in arrears on the mortgage (£960 ) in total £450 in arrears on loan/card payments and £200 in arrears in utility bills. I am helping to sort out everything but the advice I would like is that we claimed £1575 back from Halifax and they have accepted the hardship claim but only offered £511 as a goodwill gesture.
Whilst obviously anything will help the situation, this seems a bit low given the circumstances? Is it worth refusing the offer and trying for more? Would they withdraw their offer if we do? Any thoughts would be most welcome.
Thanks
