    Re: Cabot Financial/Train2Game.

At this point, I'd suggest you contacted CDF. They were the owners of your 'loan' that was paid to train2game, so you need to ask for a refund from them I'm afraid :tinysmile_hmm_t2:

You will also have to contact Cabot to request a hold being placed on your account with them while you continue your dispute.

I was trying to find out if you could have used mis-selling of the course (due to false endorsements on the coursework) as I understand that on some of the earlier booklets there were logos that may (in my opinion) have led you to believe that certain companies were recommending the courses, but this doesn't seem to be the case. :sorry:

As I pointed out in my previous post (#42) however, there are some slightly strange findings in regards to their correspondence if you look closely that might be worth looking into in more detail :tinysmile_twink_t2:

edit 17th October 2014: My understanding of the false endorsements was achieved by searching the internet for T2G and reading posts such as
My credit provider was CDF and I have paid about half of the amount and these are the logos which are printed on my manual
    1) Member of British Learning Association
    2) E-Skills UK Member
    3) Cisco System Networking Academy
    4) CIW
    5) CompTIA
    6) Microsoft Office
    7) IAB
    8) City & Guilds
    9) ATL
    10) Skills2Learn
    11) Yardstick Media
    12) Trade For Train Skills
    13) Bsi Registered UKAS Quality Management
"It is irrelevant to state that the Microsoft, eSkills, British Learning Association or Cisco approvals are not necessary for the CIW qualification as the complaint relates to how the course was sold. The (implied) endorsements by these companies influenced my decision to proceed with the purchase of the course."
Regarding the logos again, (just to entertain their comments for a moment). Microsoft never approved Skillstrain and I have a letter from them stating that. eSkills wrote to Skillstrain in 2007 asking their logos to be removed. You're not interested in what goes on in the 'industry training body' sector. You're a consumer, not a specialist in those areas. The presence of the logos implies endorsements by these companies and could(did in my case) influence a decision to proceed with the purchase of the course. For example, would you be more likely to buy an IT training product at £3k with a Microsoft logo on the front or no logos on the front - courts would see this the same way.
from a thread on another forum.

I have also been in contact with Rob Ager via email in regards to your previous comments and link

The now dissolved Skillstrain trading name is linked to Train2Game on the Companies House website - my research into these companies has given me cause to link the two in the above comments.

To be honest yes regarding the endorsements with TIGA Cabot have sent the amount back to CDF I have telephoned CDF they say that they do not take Correspondence over the phone So I have wrote to them to be honest I have threatened them with legal action I think to be honest if I say that I have spoken to someone with legal representation they will give me my refund and mention about the false address but cheers.

How much would it cost to take this case to the small claims court.

you will probably be asked to try mediation first

if that doesn't work, then you can see here for info on bringing a small claim :tinysmile_grin_t:

Any contact with train2game should come from you :tinysmile_twink_t2:

CDF were the original owners of your loan, and therefore it is CDF who you need to contact in regards to any refund or charges that you wish to point out ....

Train2game cannot make a decision on the credit agreement as they were not the company you took the loan out with - all they could do is repay any 'unused' course fees to CDF :tinysmile_hmm_t2:

I would also suggest that you keep all correspondence in writing (for your records)
