Hi guys,

i received a very strange letter from the managing director of capquest today offering me a payment plan stating that it wasent a gimmick and nothing sinister??
They also said the have set up a special phone number just for me?
this is the same numer as there main one!
The letter also states that my account is now being processed for leagal action?
Is this true even though they still havent made any contact with me?
Iv also had ther calls barred from my house!
How much would they have bought our £4500 debt for?
Would it be beneficial to them to take me to the court for a debt that is 12 years old and that according to the original ceditor was closed and would not chase for it anymore..
The previous letter was from h l leagal.
surely if legal action was going to take place i would just receive letters from h l legal??

any advice from you wounderful peeps would be greatly apperciated.

Ha ha, I had EXACTLY the same letter from crapquest. Offering me a percentage of credit for each payment I made. Asked me to call a number that had been especially set up for this deal. Said that it was not a gimmick or anything sinister. Translation - 'we know we have no way in hell of winning a court case against you because we are in the wrong, so we'll make this last ditch attempt at getting you to pay'. Complete MORONS!!

I have had a similar letter from capquest but offering 15%. Am i to assume this will increase to 50%?
I need to hold them off for 10 weeks as then it will be statute barred as it will be 6 years old.
I dont mind paying my debts but after making agrrements with others i just dont have the money to pay these people now.

Does the letter state that they will take legal action, or they may take legal action?

Then it goes on about accepting reductions etc..
