Re: Can somebody shed some light here please ?

Yes the blue badge was obtained through the local authority. The reason it was all so difficult is that her initial recovery after the operation seemed very encouraging. She was able to walk/stand again and the pain decreased to a bearable level. The problem with the condition is that medical people know very little about it and everyone apart from her surgeon assumed she was ''cured'' but the problem do eventually get worse over time. I had to fight to get our gp to acknowledge the fact that she was indeed very ill. Once everyone was in agreement I started the benefit ball rolling again as she had been turned away immediatly on previous occasions as she was for the blue badge. She has seen occupational therapist and pain management consultants who still seem to be experimenting with the best method of treating her. We have had certain adaptions to our our and she has been given several aids to assist her mobility. We also have made an application for a grant to have a stairlift fitted but so far that has been unsuccessful. That have implied that we could probably get funding for about half the cost (£1500) but we will have to find the rest which of course at the moment is totally impossible. I am also waiting to hear from a mortgage rescue scheme councellor and he will hope fully be in touch either today or tomorrow. Its difficult trying to get anyone to do anything positive.

    Thanks Enaid.

    Alan.

EDIT: All requests have been made to parties involved. Awaiting Replies.
EDIT: I cant see much happening this side of the holiday weekend now.
