Re: Advantage Gold account- a rip off ??

I have taken a well earned break as I have been saying on the forums so am trying not to be too vociferous. Nattie is my username across all forums and I am not on CAG at all to post and never will be. or natweststaffmember on MSE although again I am not a regular on there or Natty on PC but things are calm at the moment.

Hello Nattie, No disrespect given and non intended, but you are like a typical banker you do not answer all of the questions and evade the issues raised:roll:

                  Hello Nattie,

                  Hope you are well.

No they are never sent me a copy of the agreement for the application of these service fees.

I have sent a request under non-compliance of the dpa x 2 and have threatened court action and they told me to contact my local branch for the t&C's when I opened the account ??????1993.

I do have all the statement running back to 1993, they have now sent them twice and I have noticed that service fees did not run monthly, there are a few months when I was not charged them This was prior to 2000.

When was the advantage gold account opened? We did not have ADGD in 1993. When was the account converted into Advantage gold? Maybe that is the question needing answering.

I don't quite know that one, I think around 2000, but I would like to know why service charges were applied at the start of the account, then stop for about 7 months, start up again for about 3 months, stop for 4months, on for 2, stop for 6months and then start again.

                        Hello,

                        Done my homework Nattie

Going through the statements, I think the ADF was applied in May 2000, they charged £5, then it went to £6, then a massive rise of £9 and then to £10.

Previous to that they were applied willy nilly

not possible for that to happen Hells, I am sure you have seen the previous thread entitled Advantage gold and unarranged borrowing, which has now been incorporated into NatWest Charges the Ultimate guide. Please re read that because I am sure I could spot if that was the case.

at the moment hells, if the statement is that it was applied willy nilly then I do not believe that to be the case because it does not happen with automated charges systems and advantage gold.

I will not mark your homework yet as I believe this is only a draft, ok?:okay:

                                Hello,

Have received a response from them regarding the AGF.
                                Dear you,

Thank you for writing to us on 12th Jan. I have read your letter carefully and have now investigated the points that you reised relating to Advantage Gold

I can confirm that your account was converted to AG in May 2000. Whilst we no longer hold this documentation, I have obtained a copy bank statement which shows that this conversion took place the same day as you took out a personal loan with the Nasywest. As one of the many benefits of AG is that customers obtain a discounted interest rate on loans, it is prudent to assume that this is the reason for the conversion, ie to make your loan payments cheaper. (apart from the fact that we applied extortionate ppi that you had no choice in whatsoever)

In view of this, and taking into account that you have received bank statements every month since May 2000 confirming that a fee has been debited, the bank feels that this product was not mis-sold and that your have had ample time to cancel this facility since that time.

MMMmm me thinks they are trying to mis-lead me

Then the normal blah blah regarding time limits on complaints and refer to FOS

                                Haha, no agreement then

Have sent a response, I do feel that they do not think I am too prudent in my assumption and asking for the clarifaction of the interest rates that were applied to the loans, before and after the AGF.

If find it extremely interesting that the natwest, do not hold any agreements of any shape or form in their files
