I note what you say about your family circumstances and you must make both Marstons & AW aware of this. You will need to provide some form of proof. Marstons do have a Welfare Dept. Both organisations are not clairvoyants and need to be told of your circumstances.

As for AW it may pay to also talk to them to see if they have some form of Water Charity that could be used to pay this in full or in part. Have a read of this http://www.anglianwater.co.uk/househ...ng/assistance/

i have made contact with both marstons and aw who keep sending me round in circles. my mp is involved to help me now. aw were aware of my vunrabilty as i had told them i am a single parent with children to which one is diabled and that is why i am on benefits

Are you just speaking to whoever answers the phone? For AW you may need their debt dept and regardless of anything they say they are responsible for the actions of their contractor - after all they are the ones that instructed them. For Marstons you need the Welfare Dept.

On a similar theme but with another High Court Enforcement Co they have released details of Senior Staff that may be contacted direct for urgent cases - it's a great shame others don't do the same.

Water companies are notorious for playing silly buggers with County Court summonses. From examples I have seen, they manipulate "solicitor's fees" to ensure the amount claimed is £600 or more so they can instruct HCEOs. It is IMHO an abuse of the legal process and, in a number of cases I have helped deal with in the past, it was blindingly obvious the water company was attempting to mislead the court. The courts need to get tougher with water companies and reject claims that are "questionable".

If a debtor is vulnerable and the waterco is made aware of this and don't look at their assistance schemes to help the debtor before they go for the CCJ, they should have the application thrown out by the court and costs awarded against the utility imho.

i have spoken to thier debt department who , after putting me on hold for 6 minutes claim they never knew i was vunrable. this is why i have contacted my mp as i cant fight this on my own.
