Hi,
So I'm doing an AAT Level 3 apprenticeship (I was 19 when I started). However due to moving house I have to resign (still in my probation period). In my contract it says I have to repay fees, but does this apply in the probabtion period? Also, do you have any idea if this is a government apprenticeship and if they get paid for having me (and how much?)

Here's a copy of the training contract terms:
"Repayment of Training Costs
12. You may be required to repay all the training costs and any associated costs incurred by the Employer in connection with your AAT training course in the following circumstances:
(a) your employment terminates, for whatever reason before the completion, or within twelve months of the completion, of the AAT qualification. The training continues until you have successfully completed all examinations, practical training and have received official confirmation of your qualification. You must provide a copy of this certificate to the HR Manager
(b) you abandon the training without reasonable cause
(c) the Employer believes, in its entire discretion, that you are not diligently pursuing your
studies
(d) if you fail all or part of an examination at the second attempt
If you are unable to continue your current role due to long term ill health during the training, the Employer will not require you to repay the training costs.
The Employer may deduct any sum due from you under this contract from any sums payable to you by the Employer, including salary. If no such sums are payable to you, or they are insufficient to meet the training costs, you will repay the balance to the Employer within a maximum of 3 months of the termination of your employment. You will be notified of the amount of the deduction(s) and when it/they will be made.
Training costs will cover the following (where applicable):
Course fees
Mandatory books and course materials
Exam entry fees
Revision courses
Annual subscription to the AAT
Travel/hotel/subsistence costs"
