  • new member with a problem

Hi all, I've just joined and hope someone can help me. A couple of years ago i signed up with "Bank Smart", all was well until recently, when I started getting letters saying I owed money. I was sure all my invoices were up to date but I am now locked out and today I received a text threatening court action and bailiffs for a bill over£1200. I am past myself worrying and have no idea where to turn, can anyone advise please?

      Hiya

Don't worry, this is typical Bank Smart and they rarely follow through with their threats.

I assume that they are demanding the sum for 'breach of contract' in respect of paperwork they claim they sent and you didn't return?

The first step is to make a formal complaint and assuming they reject it you can then take the complaint to the Legal Ombudsman.

I'm happy to help you draft one but would need to know the details of your dealings with them.

        Hi,

Has this been put in the hands of a debt collection company?
