I'm not sure who looks older. Is our ageing monarch giving Theresa a hand to stand up?

I am sorry if I offended, I picked on that particular point because I had already talked about the qualifications previously. I was having problems with my connection other wise I would have mention Baroness Thatcher who would be about the right age to be Corbyns mother, a research chemist and lawyer. There are also countless examples of successful women from the early and mid 20th century. Politically I can think of Barbara a Castle and Shirley Williams as well. I grant you that it was even more difficult then for a woman to succeed in business, politics or education but it did happen, it was not unheard of as you suggest.

As for my qualifications, well I have cse maths and English but can not find the grades so am redoing my GCSEs now. As Amethyst said, many people do degrees later in life with few formal qualifications. There are people doing the Honours degree course without a qualification to their name and it is a top ten University, some of these get 1sts or 2:1 degrees and go on to do all sorts such as PHD,s .

Why am I doing it, well that's my business but let's just say I am lucky enough to be able to do it now for no other reason than I want to, I have a supportive husband and family. I want to continue and do a masters degree in social work.

The Queen looks ever so small and rather frail.

In her speech outside no.10 she mentioned the Union reading this as no referendum on independence for Queen Nicola.
would expect her to put together a cabinet of fresh faces fresh ideas only way to move country forward hope she does take control away from the minority and listens to the majority

I think she has made a massive mistake appointing Boris. I also think that getting rid of Osborne from the cabinet is a big error. It looks to me as if she has appointed people for party unity rather than people best for the job. She will be no Iron Lady. She will be gone before the next election.

I say that even though I thought she was the best of the contenders. It's a shame Ken Clarke didn't stand, he is a man of conviction and compassion, the sort of Tory I really like

Haven't got my head around the Boris appointment just yet... waiting to see the full cabinet line up first really. Actually I'm still a bit "WHAT???????" ...

Do we know if Osborne actually resigned or 'wasn't asked to stay' ?
