  • Re: The new PM

I am truly confused as to how the country is doing economically. According to Reuters today we are in a mess with job losses and no investment yet I was in the local supermarket and saw, the Daily Express I think saying how wonderful things were with growth and investment. It can't be both

I don't think Corbyn is a communist , closet or not I think he is a true socialist. The type of socialist that this country has a long and proud tradition of inspiring. I don't think many people actually know what communism iis. Russian communism was not what Karl Marx called communism , maybe Chinese communism is closer, China has brought more people out of poverty than any other country in the world, doesn't mean I would like to like there.

I am not an activist and know little about politics really, just what I pick up along the way but neither labour or the conservatives seem any good to me , we go through crisis after crisis whoever is in power

Like anything Anthony the truth is dependant on who wants to tell you and who you want to believe, I remember reading the country has been doing well for a while but haven't seen the evidence. As for whether it is worse now I haven't seen the evidence of that either. All I see is a lot of unknowns, doubts and excuses at the moment whereas I would prefer to see plans, optimism and our renowned getting stuck into the task in hand attitude.

Lloyds have been laying staff off for a long time now but brexit has given them the perfect excuse to up the ante. With more people using online and other methods of banking there is less requirement for branches and staffing levels. Brexit is going to be blamed for a lot of things for a while, some that can be attributed to it and some with no connection whatsoever. One thing that will catch up with us in the future will be all the automation and technology leaving us without jobs to do and earning no money to utilise the goods produced. As for using excuses it seems we could win gold if it was an Olympic sport especially when we have had a government that has spent its time blaming others.

It was kind of a rhetorical question

Yes it goes to shareholders, some I believe are owned by pension funds for the average man or woman but others are owned by wealth management companies who somehow manage to avoid paying tax on their profits.

I am not sure I trust the people to have power because many do not grasp the complexities and it would possibly become mob rule with capital punishment etc.

A group of rebel Labour MPs are planning to split off into a new group and sue the remainder of their old party so they can use its name, it has been reported.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper says “embryonic” plans are being hatched for a “semi-split” in the event Jeremy Corbyn wins this summer’s leadership election again.
