Hello everyone,
My partner received a liability order from the CSA on 20/01/10 for just over £2000, he phoned the CSA and arranged a payment plan of £90 a month over the next two years. A standing order was put in place and he finished paying in May 2012, before he stopped the S/O he checked back through his payments to make sure the balance was clear, it ended up he had overpaid by £27.
He has now received letters from Rossendales stating that he has to pay them £250 or £350, depending on which letter you read from them, against the liability order dated 20/01/10 and on Saturday a notice of distress was put in the letterbox with his car stated as being imponded by them and it will be sold in 5 days (it is actually parked behind high metal gates which they cannot get through without a key).
As his original debt to the CSA was paid up by May 2012 he emailed Rossendales to state this fact but they have still issued the notice of distress. He doesn't want to ring the CSA as he fears they may start looking at his file and say that he owes money running into the thousands (cash in hand was given to the mother of his child weekly until she was 18).
Where does he go from here does he pay Rossendales to get them off his back or chance ringing the CSA and his file being re-opened?
Any advice would be greatly received.
Thank you,
Pallmall
