I banked with Midland Bank for many years before it was taken by HSBC. Due to adverse circumstances when I went abroad to look after my 92 year old Mother who had a stroke in 2021. I couldn’t partially pay my overdraft of £3057.27 and couldn’t communicate with them by email nor by phone as communication is very difficult in the country I was.
On my return in November 2022 to UK I went and try to speak to one of their managers to explain the situation but they told me to refer to Moorcroft which I did.
In January 2023 I ended in Hospital where lots of health conditions where found. in November 2023 I had a fall and fractured my right arm and had two surgeries.
My only income is my State pension of £769 at the time it was £720 I am 72 and have nowhere to live and friends and family have been helping with essentials like food and stays.
Could someone please advise me what is the minimum amount HSBC are likely to accept as a settlement.
