Hi, I am the defendant and a LIP in a multitrack case for which a case and costs management conference has been arranged in a couple of weeks time via video link. There are a whole page of directions to comply with prior to the conference. The other side have a solicitor and I do not and I do not have a single clue of how to comply with the directions given as I don't understand the majority of them. I have used a solicitor and a specialist adviser at various points up until now so have incurred legal costs to date and may do in the future but have no idea how to quantify that. The other sides solicitor emailed me to say that LIPs cannot claim costs at all, which I believe is not true. Can anyone point me in the direction of some help or advise in this area?
FYI, I have an application for support being processed with Advocate, this case does not qualify for any Legal Aid or such, and I have used the free service with certain universities for help previously but they would not be able to provide advice in time for this conference. It's a franchise issue so also not something Citizens Advice were able to help with. Google search hasn't yielded anything productive. I'm pretty much on my own and have exhausted every option I can think of so hope someone out there has some bright ideas of how to proceed.
Many thanks..
