Hi there i wasn’t sure what forum to post this in so I hope this alright.
Long story short - I signed up to do an online Plumbing course 3 and abit years ago and have been paying £180 a month since then (7.9k in total it’s costing). The course is primarily online and then they ‘invite’ you to attend a college for practical weeks and tests.
I found after a month or so the substance of the course was dreadful aswell as the quality of the videos they post which are supposed to be educating you for the tests - so quickly just stopped doing it and tried to cancel it but when starting the course i obviously didn’t have 8k spare so they put you with a finance company (Carnegie consumer finance). There is no interest on the loan as it’s for educational purposes. When i tried to cancel years i was informed that id signed a loan agreement therefore i had no way out of paying it and i didnt want to risk a CCJ on my credit score by not paying as im looking to purchase a house in the next 2 years or so.
My question, is there a way out of this ? Can any legal action be taken against me for refusing to pay the finance company ?
Im aware i’ve only got till July then its finished but still id like to know so i dont have to pay the remaining 7 months.
Thankyou in advance.
