Hi all, hope you're well. Yesterday i had a small traffic accident and am wondering wjat to do.
i was waiting in a long static queue of traffic and decided to turn around and try a different route. I checked my wing mirrors - it was a small van with solid rear doors so no centre rear-view mirror - saw nothing behind, reversed about 6 inches and heard a crunch. There was a moped right behind me, so close that I couldnt see him.
There was superficial damage to my van and the moped's front mudguard was missing a chunk but was still intact.
The guy didnt speak english so he called the owner of the moped, I gave him my number and asked him to call me later so that we could sort things out.
He didnt call but i got a call from a claims handling company this morning. Since a new mudguard cant be very expensive it seems like overkill to get one of these ambulance chaser lawyers involved.
Im wondering what my options are: am i in the wrong for not seeing the moped?
Tks in advance for any help.
