  • Can I be an informant?

I’m currently charged with a drug offence. Can I become an informer to help avoid jail time?

You need to discuss plea bargaining with your solicitor. It does happen.

Please for your and everyone sake, get over using drugs. Easy for me to say, but you can.

Thanks. I’m 100% drug free. I work and I also do volunteer work in my spare time to help with the current pandemic. I have a very supportive partner and a son who adores me. I’m starting University in September to study business and management. I have a lot to live for.

My problem is that just over 1 year ago I was in a car with 3 mates. Got stopped by police and one of the lads had 20 grams of weed and a small personal bag of cocaine. I had no idea he had this in his pocket. However I was arrested and later charged with being concerned in the supply. I have a previous conviction for supplying drugs back in 2014. I was out with my so called mates that day to buy something to eat before being stopped by the police. They continue to sell drugs. I’ve turned my life around. I’m thinking to give the CPS and the police overwhelming information on those people and also others. I just want to leave that lifestyle behind and continue with my positive progress

Be careful to ensure that this cannot be traced back to you.

I’m certainly sure it wouldn’t as I’m not involved with these people in any way. I just know so much about what they do, where they do it and when they do it

As Paula Jayne advised be certain you can't be traced. It is a risk. Can you have a change of address. What happened to you could have happened to many young people. Well done on what you are achieving.
I suggest getting references to show that you are living a law abiding, responsible life. I expect you have a solicitor and get him to plead your case.
Very Best wishes you deserve to enjoy the opportunities you have worked for.

Snitches get stitches! Don't you know that?

Plus you'll be a *itch and *ut*****ed in jail, as you're serving some time for sure!

Is your mother for sale? I'm sure you'd sell her to save your own *rse, you do the crime, you do the time, don't blame others because you got caught.

Did they tie you up, beat you into submission? Free will should not come at the cost of others, even if they are criminals like you.

A good person, look at the post, has had an unlucky experience. He asks for help on a reputable forum.

Your ignorant ( you are not a criminal unless convicted ) nasty response is repulsive to normal humanity. If brought to court then what reason has a judge to give a custodial sentence ? Someone who is obviously not criminally minded has a positive future. No need to give him a criminal record.

Naysayer please think about what your values are.

UK1 society should give you the opportunity to continue your life choices.

Plead not guilty and your previous conviction will not be disclosed
                    Get lots of character witnesses
Give evidence - convinice the (magistrates?) that you are the innocent party
Ensure you are not tried with them in a "three hander"
                    Good luck

Has there been a decision to prosecute ? Have they a case against you ? If not shouldn't even go to court.

SCOT22 Yes I have been charged along with three others. One person in the car had the drugs in there pocket but decided to go no comment in his interview which then implicated all of us.

In that case I agree with Islandgirl. You have truth on your side. I can't see what evidence the police can have other than circumstantial. Not sure I would be confident working with the police.
I don't think you should have been charged. We all hope for justice.

Hello, does anybody know what the difference is between being concerned in the supply of drugs and intent to supply drugs? Which is more severe etc... Thanks
