Hi,
I recently received a PCN from Smart Parking Ltd which I believe I am not happy with.
I was parked in the car park for a bar I was inside as a paying customer. As far as I was aware I didn't need to pay for parking if I was a paying customer in the bar. Once I received the PCN through the post I contacted the bar and they advised that I was supposed to register my vehicle at reception on my way in (no one at reception advised me of this when I was there). The bar advised me to contact Smart Parking Ltd and explain this. I explained this to Smart Parking Ltd and even provided them screenshots from my online banking showing that I was a paying customer in the bar at the time, however they rejected my appeal.
After reading about the 14 day rule I noticed that the event happened on 26/09/2020 and the date that the PCN was sent was 15/10/2020 which is more than 14 days.
I have now explained all of the above to POPLA and waiting a response, does anybody have any advise for me how to help my case? And am I right to appeal this?
Thanks in advance.
