  • On bail Pending charges of Blackmail

Hi, I would appreciate sound advise and help..

I was arrested 4 weeks ago on the suspicion of blackmail, however, was demanding my money back from the fraudster who sold me fake cryptocurrency.*

I initially reported him 4 months ago to the police, action fraud and the bank but no action has been taken to date.*

I believe this to be a revenge attack as I blew the whistle and reported him. He has presented screenshots of threatening messages to the police from different numbers that do not belong to me nor registered to me. Police have taken that as gospel and now prosecuting me.*

This particular person is smart and a 1st class honours graduate in computer science and is a software developer/mobile app developer and used his skills to frame me.

What do I do in this situation? the phone numbers aren't mine, police did not find the phones/sims in my house but claim to have voice messages allegedly left from me which I haven’t heard yet. I believe he’s replicated my voice using his I.T skills*

In my plea hearing the judge did ask the prosecuting barrister if he was going to present phone citation he responded no. What is phone citation?*

Id appreciation sound help and advise

    Many Thanks *

Why were you at a crown court for a plea and directions hearing or are you assuming the person speaking for the prosecution is a barrister?

I think if it were me I would be figuring out what networks the numbers belong to and asking those networks to confirm their existence, then if they do asking them to confirm that they are not registered to you. The Data Protection Act 2018 allows you to obtain personal data in connection with a court proceeding.**

The offence is triable either way, so was it referred to the Crown Court?
