  • Claim Form Received

    Hello,

I am hoping to receive some advice from this forum on what I need to do.
I got a ticket back in 2018 and I have been back and forth. I had been advised I should have ignored, but didn't think that was wise. I got a Claims form on the 09/01/2020. I assumed I have a month to respond and I just read it that I have 14 days. Do I* stand a chance, if so, can I be given suggestions o what I need to do? If I choose to ignore what is the worst thing that will happen. Thank you. I appreciate all contributions and advice.

A parking ticket ? Who is the claimant? and what has happened before you received this claim - did you receiving the charge notice to keeper and did you make an appeal or anything then? Can you type out the particulars of claim please.

Go online now and ACKNOWLEDGE the claim ( don't defend, just acknowledge with intent to defend in full - this will extend those 14 days to 28 days )

DO NOT IGNORE IT. ( Worst can happen is a ridiculous amount for what was originally probably a £50 charge )

First acknowledge service now, that will give you until 4pm on Tuesday 11th February 2020 to file a defence.

I can't help you other than this, ostell may be able to depending on whether this is a parking ticket or Parking Charge Notice issue.

Write to the solicitor involved and demand copies of all the documents they intend to rely on in this matter in order to narrow the issues between you.* You require the do moments by return and in any case within 7 days,.

SAR to the parking company requesting all the documents they have pertaining to you and your car.

The claim form should have the claimants name and address, then their solicitor then yours.* IF no solicitor the* to the claimant.

The letter*has their name and address written twice and then mine. Initial one is headed with 'Claimant' and second one as 'Address for sending documents and payments'

There is a name signed at the bottom of letter,**and then the company name. However, under the name in bracket says*'Claimant Legal Representative'

Seems their legal representative is from their company.
