  • Text from capquest I've never heard of ...

Hi received a text from capquest saying to get in touch with them regarding a letter they say they have sent me.( I haven't received any letter.i googled these people and apparently the buy bad debts at a reduced rate then chase you for the money..The only thing I can think of is a company I have been paying for over 25 years called wescot credit LTD an agreed payment of £3 a month considering my circumstances..As I say I have been paying for over 25 years Direct Debit and never missed a payment..I am not even sure how much I owe..I am assuming wescot credit LTD have sold the debt to this capquest...What should I do? ..Please help...

    25years ? Blimey

personally I'd ignore the text but it might be worth looking at this debt - how much was the original debt ? Was interest frozen ? Are the payments following a court judgment ?

No county court judgement.years ago I went to CAB ,they told wescot credit LTD my circumstances and agreed a payment of £3 per month...Occa Occasion I would receive a letter from them offering a settlement figure. But was in no position to do that.So they let me just continue..Now after all these years this text from capquest...They may have sent a letter to my former adress.i moved two years ago...I think I owe about £600 maybe .it was originally owed to Barclays and RBS ...Even though I have continued to pay the payments all these years.i thought the debt was written off after so many years but apparently not ..

The original debt was £600 or £1,500?

Did you owe £600 at the start or is that what's left ? Think you've paid about £900 so far?

Might be be an idea to call Westcot with your change of address and check on progress - you don't want a random ccj appearing because they file at an old address.

Okay just checking as if it started at £600 then you would have vastly overpaid.
