I am a relatively objective person but I should not have to deal with trolls, and or affective cliques, ie a legalbeagle makes a personal criticism of self and others 'thank for this post.' It is childish, it's pathetic, it's un called for.
thanks for a post is a personal preference ... take me for example, I will quite often 'thank' a person/post if I'm quoted or tagged as a way of acknowledging that (not because I 'like' what they are saying - although often I do ). Legal Beagles, as a forum, has a hugely diverse populous with people from all walks of life commenting and posting at any given time. That being said, I do not believe that there are "trolls or cliques" deliberately targeting you as a scape-goat (however, if you feel there is, then feel free to contact me and I will happily look into it)

A suggestion ... you have an option in your profile settings to have a 'signature' which appears at the bottom of each and every post you make. Why don't you put this information there?

Dyslexia is not a problem here ... in fact there are many people with dyslexia who go on to lead great lives (Orlando Bloom, Lewis Carrol and Louis Rosenberg to name but three - WIKI LINK)

However ... if one of the other Beagles misinterprets the nature of your post (any post) then how can you be so certain that the OP on a thread will understand it? That is why we try to "keep it simple". Most new posters on here will have little or no knowledge of the law (or the regulations governing the situation they find themselves in) that is why they come here ... to ask in "layman's terms" what the best course of action is

Well, If I have done nothing and yet others view me critically, given am not egotistical the only option left is others' perception and the other things I stated. To me, education and the pieces of paper mean nothing - it's how society values others, no how I value persons. Persons walk around with these 2.1 and 1st class degrees, but it doesn't mean anything as the standard is lowered to enable so many 2.1/s and 1st classes. Softer subjects are introduced to ensure there is more 2.1. What am saying of sorts, it's artificial competition. A 2.1 or a 1st is just the average of the all the assessments but by itself it means nothin in reality but for fierce competition for good jobs and other limited resources, it's just a way to control recruitment albeit it's very arbitrary, in my view anyway.

Nah, K. I just let them rattle on. I am more interested in helping people. I generally avoid or ignore unfair things being said. I however today gave my interpretation of how I view things. It's up to the legalbeagles community to chose the words they use towards me now.

Re: Discussion! Forfeiture and Assured Tenancies

I know many of us older people believe A levels and the like are easier and we back this up with the increasing numbers of A grades. The real reasons could be many fold , from brighter students to better teaching, maybe the curriculum is narrower so what is taught is in greater depth. I remember being told that the grades were apportioned according to a frequency distribution graph but this was never shown to be true.

I also remember being being told that people who passed their driving tests first time were worse drivers than those who failed once or twice, I've never seen any evidence to back that up, maybe that is said by people who did fail first time to make themselves feel better.

I am am curious where the notion that 1sts and 2:1 degrees are also now easier comes from.
I believe that undergraduates now apply themselves to their studies to a greater extent because of the financial impact and the need for a decent degree to get a decent job. I think long gone are the days when Oxbridge gave a degree for more or less turning up. There is also now much more recognition and support for people with learning difficulties such as dyslexia so that these people can achieve levels of success undreamt of years ago. The IT age with software such as dragon and Claro read provided by DIsabled students allowance has really helped. Equally mind mapping software for people with less ordered ways of thinking has helped.

A Ist or a 2:1 is an outstanding achievement under any circumstances. I believe the days of 1sts being thought of as the preserve of 'unrounded nerds' with no social skills is also gone for the reasons stated above.

when you go to university and know you will come out with 50k debt, the pressure to succeed is extreme.

              Openlaw
I hope I have never commented directly on your dyslexia and my comment about Austic spectrum disorder was not intended as an insult, I think there are elements of that in many of us. You should be justifiably proud of your degree, I know you say it means nothing to you but it an achievement non the less.

Re: Discussion! Forfeiture and Assured Tenancies

Actually, I do think that this rolling around in the dirt is getting a bit embarrassing and I do not think that Ms Andrist is the first or last OP to be put off or disgusted by this behaviour.
I hate bullies and normally try to see everyone’s point of view. In fact some comments made by members have caused me to completely alter hard- held views but Openlaw ,why do you insist on tearing everyone's ideas and opinions to pieces. Now I know Jack about the law or most of the stuff people need help about but you don’t simply say ‘Well I don’t agree with that because’ ….you just wade in spouting a jumble of words which can painstakingly be semi deciphered to indicate a complete wander into irrelevant territory. I know nothing about legislation and the neither does the OP in desperate need of clear advice and encouragement. If you want to wear your lexicon of legal terms like a peacock’s tail then good for you but can you avoid smothering the op and ignorant people like me with a scrabble bag of words. We are here to help and be helped not win a pis**ng contest.
