  • S**d's law again

    Typical isn't it.
My brother in law, resident in Australia, is currently on lecture tour in France.
He has made arrangements to come to UK to visit us on June 19th & 20th.
Yesterday I was informed son is to have ATOS assessment on 19th & son in law has tribunal to appeal against refusal to award compensation under Armed Forces scheme on 20th.

All I'm waiting for now is stay on daughter's PE case to be lifted and get court date for same day.
Have requested Tribunal to reschedule appeal hearing, but:rant: ATOS being uncooperative

Oh that is just bloody typical isn't it. They make it so you daren't try and amend in case they stick you back at the bottom of the pile again. Is the ATOS assessment local (ie will it muck up the whole day?)

ATOS is luckily at 9.00am, but I have to take my son back home, so I'm writing the morning off.
The problems there are that we have insisted on recording the session and they have flagged it for a doctor (proper qualified but will probably turn out to be a gynecologist and not orthopaedic )

So had ATOS assessment and sent Brother- in- law back down under!
Had ATOS result today and son has been awarded ESA...... so no instant cure for him, he's officially unfit for work!

One down, and next Tuesday off to Cardiff for Armed Forces Compensation Scheme Tribunal appeal hearing with Son-in-law.

That's good news (that he has got what he is entitled to that is lol)

Hope it goes as well for your son-in-law's compensation.

                Update of old post:
son in law received confirmation today (at last) of £40,000 lump sum AND £10,000 pa (linked to inflation) for rest of his natural.

Chuffed, but why did it take five years and a tribunal and all that stress for his family.
Might still have to have his ankle amputated.

Oh, well done Des! I'm also baffled (my son has some complex disabilities) as to why the powers that be choose to waste money on blocking any support to legitimate needs in favour of paying people who are a complete waste of space to get in the way and absorb all the funds.

Badly put but I'm sure you know what I'm driving at:tinysmile_hmm_t2:

Anyway...I'm really pleased that you finally have some sort of justice for your son-in-law xx
