School days..what are your memories?

Chatting on a thread yesterday I got reminded of why and how I and many others got kicked out of Latin.......what happened to you?

Apart from that one,my senior school days were a mixed bag..I won a scholarship to a VERY posh school with 2 other girls from different schools.My parents were ecstatic..my whole family were,,and I was mortified,,I thought I'd done little enough NOT to get in. The very first meeting with the HeadMistress,,her bedecked in gown and mortar,ended with her shaking my hand with a vice like grip and whispering 'I've got the measure of you Nicola...let the games begin'' !!!!!!!

The whole family coming to the 'see the school' day and my sister Kate slipping on her 5 inch platform boots and putting her hoof straight through a window..oh the shame

I went to an all girl school........the legendary bike sheds were a place of fable unless you preferred girls to boys

me and my best friend Nellie skivving off Math and hiding out at the bin room smoking her dad's benson and Hedges.

Walking through the school at hometime bored silly and realising the sexiest Irishman in the world was standing at the gate with a birthday card and a bunch of roses. :tinysmile_grin_t:

Being told by a teacher that I, as an Englishwoman, had less knowledge of French then he had of quantum physicis and looking him in the face and replying Je ne suis pas anglais, je suis Irlandais
