    Re: Royal Wedding Date

Just came across this now in the news updated 15 mins ago.....

    http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/71764,...n-camilla-wish

Clarence House has rushed to play down the significance of a comment made by Prince Charles during an American TV interview, when he appeared to suggest that his second wife could become Queen Camilla when he ascends to the throne.
It is known that the Prince of Wales has long confided in close friends that he hopes Camilla might be crowned queen beside him. But the official line has always been - and remains - that she would be known as his Princess Consort.

      Re: Royal Wedding Date

Thanks for the detailed explanation Wendy, I did not know about the consort title. I am aware that Phillip is not King, I was pointing out (in my own sarcastic way)that if Charles became King then Cruella would not automatically become Queen.

        Re: Royal Wedding Date

I only know cos I saw Nicholas Witchell explaining it on tv lol. And the bit about Phill not being King is just common sense cos the King is the main man on a chessboard.
If she was Queen Consort it means she would be crowned at the same time, at his Coronation, apparently

                      Re: Royal Wedding Date

Camilla should be Queen & not for any other reason than she is married to Prince Charles and by convention would be Queen. Divorce happens, re-marriage happens, **** happens and the country should just accept that she is Prince Charles' wife and that the Victorian Britain and its values are a thing of the past. Modern times. I wouldn't mind half as much if they were out of kilter with the rest of society and if it was so perfect that divorce 'n' **** didn't happen, but its not and for that reason I'm happy enough for Camilla to become Queen. Liking or disliking her for "what she did", "how she looks" or for any other high;y personal reason isn't the point.

                          Re: Royal Wedding Date

She would only ever be formally the Queen Consort, same as the Queen Mother was when George VI was alive, or Queen Mary when married to George V et al. Camilla will be referred to as "the Queen" if she becomes Queen Consort, although if she ever does because of public opinion (and the extent to which that is listened to) is the moot point.

Yes, back to subject. A Spring Wedding. All the best to them.
