    Re: July 7th Hearing

OK, Exc and I are definitely going to be there at the handing down tomorrow.

and we will try to get the news back to Legal Beagles as it unfolds.

If anyone else is able to make it I suggest we meet outside the RCJ at 4PM.

Good luck Budgie & Exc. I'll put a bottle of fizz in the fridge ready! :tung:
The charges coming in to the banking industry every day will more than pay the banks total legal bill for the whole test case so why wouldn’t the Banks want to "ensure Justice at the highest level"

Sorry Righty, I misunderstood, it is a shame though as the atmosphere is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone who can attend.

Going back to what Budgie mentioned before, it is almost a certainty that there will be varied results for individual banks due the variety of terms & conditions submitted for assessment.

No doubt there will be appeals from any of the banks if it does not go in their favour but.............will the OFT appeal if any rulings go against them and ultimately us the consumer?

I think it's going to be a gas. I'm very keen to see his views on penalties. It will go a long way to us knowing if all the County Court claims, based on penalties, really had merit.

If the format of the last judgment is anything to go by, he'll read the summary and adjourn for 10 minutes for the press. It may be that applications for appeal may be heard and another CMC scheduled.

The Beeb are not sending anyone so my guess is that you'll here it here first.

What the BBC don't think it's important enough or that viewers won't understand.

I would have thought that with everything else the possibility of another nail in coffin of the banks would be of major importance

I think they realise the full judgement will be available on PDF the instant it is read out in court.

So they can report on that - the titbits and atmosphere that EXC and Bud report on so well is what they will miss out on. Should be pretty good....wish I could be there.

Who's idea was it to have kids anyway !

                            Re: July 7th Hearing

Mr Brown say's he wants the banking system to be restructured so to help it's customers and small business. Do you think this will have an impact on the judges decision, and will we be any closer to getting our money back

No the Judges decision today will not have been influenced in any way, shape or form by the current financial situation that is facing the Banks.

                              and

Yes today's judgement is another step on the pathway to finally resolving this issue. The Historic terms are the ones that those of us with stayed claims have all been eagerly awaiting.

Don't forget that everyone can help to influence a new generation of personal current accounts in the UK and how they should be regulated and administered in the future by contributing thoughts and ideas and suggestions to the Legal Beagles response to the OFT's consultation paper.

                                Just a thought:

If the government ( i.e. We) are going to be major share holders in the banks, shouldn't we now be able to exert pressure from within the banks, to stop taking up court & FOS time, wasting money on legal charges and accruing interest liabilities.

The settlements due (in my book) will put money exactly where it is required in the economy, the people who are "victims" of the credit crunch (as caused by?.. Oh yeh, the Banks!) and help to avoid god knows how many evictions?
