    Re: Appeals Day Two

1st post for me, but ive been on this for over 18 months now
    (bank charges and rip offs).

Do NOT lose site of the fact that:
over 10 million people are ****ed with the whole "thing" and that the 3(+) judges are mindful of this, so this will be no white wash in favour of the asswipes.

The charges cannot be disguised and are what they are, and the judges know this, and that is my (and 9+ million others) grievance.

With the turmoil going on in the markets right now with reckless lending etc etc, look me in the face and tell me that the judges think the barristers for the defendants are all wearing white robes and spouting the lords word....

KEEP THE FAITH, THIS WILL COME GOOD OR CARS (and banks) WILL BURN IN THE STREET, believe me, as I will be burning them myself if the wrongs are not righted.

      Re: Appeals Day Two

Rabinowitz went on to compare not paying charges if in credit, only if in debit, to using no win no fee services of solicitors, and estate agents.
the Judges agreed and one gave a further example of a builders quote - where they charge to give the quote but you don’t necessarily get a new house. So make a charge for a service without the customer having a benefit.

can i make a point that by saying it is like getting a quote from a builder that may be something you may have to do what once in ten years it is not a month on month cost???? so i fail to see the similarity at all!:confused2::tea:

            Re: Appeals Day Two

plus builders or doctors do not charge some for quotes(taking money out of accounts without the account holders express permission as to where the money is going or take money from benefits etc) so that others(who can afford the quotes) get it for free.

Plus if you were to get a 'quote' from one of the professionals you would wait until you had saved up enough money to do so presumably and would not be a daily cost.

            laughable it is ridiculous !!!!!!!

cant wait to hear what other ridiculous stuff they come up with. The banks still cant justify why is costs £39 when you go overdrawn or a direct debit bounces when in reality it costs a mere £2 if that. They are a bank for goodness sake and we are the customers they would not have a bank if it wasnt for us and if we are not happy then they should sort it out pronto!!!!

feel better now gettin that off my chest.

Has anyone thought about solicitors by they way how they rip people off charging excess amounts for letters and phone calls suppose this is along the same lines they can charge whatever they want even if the actual cost of these services is a fraction of the price and does not reflect exactly how much it does cost. i believe we are made to feel that we have to pay these costs because there is no where else you can go to get the service they provide!

eg you have to have a bank account to have wages paid in so therefore in some cases no bank account no job. So how can they justify saying it is the consumers choice wether to have a bank account or not? Also discounts are given for dd etc encouraging people to have an account. At the end of the day it is our money and we should have a greater say where and what happens to that money. Not banks dictacting to us about how much they will charge us for services which are extortinate, knowing we have little choice in the matter.

Everyone should join a credit union boycott the banks and become a share holder and have more say in what happens to your money, and that includes not giving poor performance directors millions of pounds of our money as bonus when we are not happy with the banks performance and taking our money in bank charges.

It is about time 'Rip off Britain' was made accountable for its actions!!!!!!

              Some good points made Jules!

The Irony is (as Tax Payers) we are now all share holders in the banks thanks to Gordon's intervention.

Still had he let them go to the wall there would be no one to claim back the charges from !
The charges coming in to the banking industry every day will more than pay the banks total legal bill for the whole test case so why wouldn’t the Banks want to "ensure Justice at the highest level"

I agree Jules In fact I would go further. What about those treat FOC on the NHS as only those who can afford to go private actually pay. In other words the wealthy don't subsidize the poor........... except in the case of the banks that is

Hardly worth writing this but I suppose Megan Murphy had to justify her attendence, even though it was for all of 20 minutes.
