  • Re: Election 2015

I think we are noticing the real problem with UK politics at the moment, we can all find more wrong with the candidates than we can find right. It seems to me personally that any one I vote for would be a huge compromise and not what I would want.

      Inclined to agree Paws.

Milliband is an oaf, the worst kind of over privileged champagne socialist ever, he denies his background and his ethnicity and is totally out of touch with everything that's going on in the UK.

And Now for your interesting piece of trivia: Ed Miliband and Boris Johnson went to the same primary school.

I read an article he wrote in 2012 which is quite interesting in terms of the fact that he is quite honest in terms of what he thinks of Ed Miliband. However, I disagree with his summary since I am certain that it will be a hung Parliament but the amount of red lines going on would cause travel chaos for anyone on the Tube in London!!

I think we are in for a lot of instability over the coming months.

We like to think that things have changed since the days of cap doffing and the few having total control over the lives and wellbeing of the many. Well things have not changed. We were not to blame for the many economic crisis in the past but we are to blame for not being allowed to work our way back to a normal standard of living. Why?Our forefathers, who had so much less, fought the establishment, fought the landlords and the powerful industrialists and fought the ruling aristocracy to get decent working and living conditions. They fought and died for the right to safe working conditions, education and a living wage. They also fought and suffered for the right to vote. The government was against them, the law was against them but they fought and they eventually won. We have a vote. No matter how much we complain about our options we have allowed the privileged few to control the government because they are the ones who put them into Westminster. We have also allowed them to convince us we have not got a voice. Although statistics vary it is a fact that debt, poverty and health issues keep more than 30% of adults awake at night and yet the turnout of voters in some areas is as low as 21%. It is also a fact that those who need change in the government are less likely to vote or badger their MP. We have taken the sacrifice of the Jarrow marchers, the Chartists and all the other men and women who fought for basic human rights and universal suffrage and flushed it down the toilet. Already we are seeing almost Dickensian standards of living creeping back in. Things have to change and we have to change them. Thanks to our forefathers we don’t have to risk our homes or indeed our lives. We do not have to march for hundreds of miles in broken boots and pouring rain. We do not have starve on strikes or languish in prison. We just have to get off our a***s and vote. We just have to get to our MPs surgery and keep on reminding them that they work for us.

I went and did mine earlier ... the polling station looked like a ghost town, but I was assured that it had been manic earlier on :tinysmile_grin_t:

Well, if the exit polls are correct I might as well go to bed……for the next 5 years! Jeremy is getting on my nerves with his virtual house, maps and charts, I hate Nick Robinson’s ‘pervy phone call voice’ and who the hell does Andrew Neil think he is fooling with that hair colour!!!!

Well looks like we are staying Blue, now though the secret hitlist for welfare cuts will be revealed and inflicted on us. Only hope that the cuts are made equally through the UK and the borders are not a barrier for leniency.

oh Dear it looks like the Tories are about to win . Even more unfortunately our long standing Lib-Dem has lost to labour here in cambridge. I really dread to think what the swivel eyed loons on the right of the party are going to do but the demolition of the Welfare state is now about t start as the Tories paymasters call in the money.
